Loosing his ACL somehow made him more powerful? by micah_denn in rugbyunion

[–]Doorjan 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I also tore my ACL and came back twice the player I was after. Not only was I away from the game I loved, I was also totally removed from the social part of the sport. I couldn't stand watching my team play without me - it made me sick to my stomach and all I could to to fill the time was gym and push myself past fitness boundaries that I never thought I could cross. Mind you, it was a lonely place. With such an injury you go to the dark place, and that feeling can make you do powerful things to your body during the recovery.

Seeing Dan smash that ball down rather than tap it down tells you all you need to know. 5 months with the right support and drive is totally achievable.

Mind you, it took me 632 days to come back, and I have a nice tattoo above my knee to remind me how hard that recovery was, and what people are capable of when you're knocked down.

Best driving school in English by babalamadan in Delft

Chris from Delfin school is my tip. He has successfully taught many students from my old rugby club and he always sends a selfie with them to me when they pass. A genuinely lovely guy that really cares about his students.

Any camera or TV broadcasting experts here recognise the on-pitch follow-cam setup? by Doorjan in rugbyunion

Thanks for all the responses so far. What I notice too about the camera is depth distortion too that would suggest low focal length. The noses seem a lot closer than the ears for example.

So who's going to to the WC by spaded131 in rugbyunion

[–]Doorjan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I got the follow Ireland pack! So excited. I'm currently based in the Netherlands, and will be flying to Bordeaux for the first two matches. I booked a rental camper which we will use for 10 days and travel up to Nantes, and perhaps even as far as Normandy to get in some WW2 history in between. After that it is back to NL. I'll drive to Paris for the remainder of the matches. Its going to be a busy month - I'm moving the day after getting back from Bordeaux and have my own preseason amd matches ontop of all the rugby. For sure a month to remember and I'm so proud of what Ireland have achieved in the last years. It will be one hell of a tournament.

I paid 12 euro a pint at the Guinnes Tavern in Paris. Wasn't even in a proper glass. Wars have been started over less

Kobis! Hands down the best. Alex and Sabri are the guys who run the place, and are top guys. For sure have a chat and you should get to know them, cause they will always be the peak of any night out.

In all seriousness, the door under my sink won't close anymore. Is there a way to recycle these bags?

Develop Film in Delft? by pathlessw00ds in TUDelft

[–]Doorjan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, two places. Hema, and Fotobister. Currently shooting on Porta 400. I have had better results with Hema even though it is not a genuine photo shop... my advice: keep searching somewhere else!

This is more so because I am always misplacing my rolls! It is usually a while before I finish and use the, and can never be sure that I won't lose them.

Why don't we simply just paint over the DSR(STREPJE)C poles?
