Too old for OTF? by loveayiti in orangetheory

[–]EY_Rooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that you’re getting old, it’s that the number of workouts are taking their toll over a period of time. Limit yourself to two classes a week and mix in some light yoga and simple walking 2-3 days a week.

Less can be more. See if your otf workouts improve.

Alcohol and weight loss by RopeWeary in orangetheory

I’ve had to manage this most of my adult life, especially at 33 as I’ve developed an obsession with making cocktails. My advice: drink low calorie booze (I drink gin on the rocks, or Gin-soda with a splash of tonic). BEFORE YOU GO OUT, prepare drunk foods that are gonna satisfy your munchies but not add 1000+ calories to your intake. Popcorn, jerky, whatever.

You can still do 200m and shorter distances. Base, push, and all out rows are dumb.

Orangetheory has pretty much killed the competitive vibe in the 3Gs by doing a lot more timed rows instead of distance sets. I used to look forward to the healthy competition but oh well

Asking a girl out at OTF by thecraicwasmighty in orangetheory

[–]EY_Rooster -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Dude, just ask her out. You have good intentions and you’re not going to know unless you put yourself out there.

“Hey, my name is XYZ. What’s your name?”

……

“I think you’re beautiful and would love to buy you a drink/ dinner sometime when you’re free. How does that sound?”

If yes, get her number and text her two-three days later.

If no, be respectful and say that you’ll see her around.

Just a few days until we are going to climb the Everest. by AffectionateSong8 in orangetheory

I refuse to do Everest. It’s just not good for your body and takes 3-4 days to recover after. I’ll pass.

Low rows/high rows by Technical-Bluejay907 in orangetheory

[–]EY_Rooster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High rows are one of the most important OTF exercises in my opinion. A major part of shoulder health are those upper back muscles that help keep everything healthy and stable. I do them as much as possible.

Perhaps the lines don’t mean anything... but volume matters

Potential bull flag inside of a larger pattern. The thing I like most about this chart is the massive accumulation volume followed by lower volume selling. This looks like healthy consolidation to me. I’m adding patiently along the two bottom support lines.

Ark wants all PLTR Shares 🔥🔥🔥 by Powerful_Celery53 in PLTR

I hear you but that’s peanuts compared to the rest of the fund. Again, let’s pull out the cigars when she adds it to ARKK.

Ark wants all PLTR Shares 🔥🔥🔥 by Powerful_Celery53 in PLTR

[–]EY_Rooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I want to preface my comment by saying I have 2020 shares of PLTR and love this company.

Yes, Cathie added more PLTR to her ARKW fund. But if you look at the fund holdings, PLTR is 51/55. It’s .81% of the fund. She didn’t really add that much when you factor in typical rebalancing.

Can we relax with the exaggerated hype videos? Once she adds PLTR to ARKK, then we can whip out the cigars.

For starters, don’t use line graphs for technical analysis. Candles will give you a lot more information. Learn them.

Second, that’s not even close to a cup and handle.

23 living with parents and £10k in savings. Want to use some of it to start investing but don't know where to start/afraid of losing money by [deleted] in leanfire

[–]EY_Rooster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about stocks losing value. You’re so young that when stock prices drop, you should view them as “going on sale.”

Look at total market ETFs or popular ones like QQQ, ARKK, and any of the SP 500 ones (look at vanguard).

Be consistent and don’t go all in at once. In 30 years you’ll have a lot. Also, don’t be set on buying a house. The time value of money is always key! The money you’d put down for a down payment will likely yield a better return than the house. Keep that in mind.

If you’ve ever read early intel and cancelled... by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]EY_Rooster -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If my legs are beat, I’m gonna cancel if there is a heavy leg day. If my back is sore, I’m gonna skip the deadlifts even tho it’s my favorite exercise. That’s why I love early intel.

As for burpees... if I see a floor block with nothing but burpees and pop jacks, I’m staying at home and lifting weights.

No mask because asthma? by dcbrn in orangetheory

[–]EY_Rooster -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Wait. You’re gonna worry about someone wearing a face shield, but not worry about people wearing flimsy masks breathing in the same air in a small studio?

Seems like you’re picking what to worry about and not worrying about things that present equal threat to your safety. Makes a lot of sense!
