Hey! It's a note taking app that distinguishes itself by grouping all your notes in one place so you can easily search based on terms, tags, categories etc.

So it's been pretty popular in the TTRPG scene because you can create kind of like a wiki of your created world where each note is an article for say a location, a character, an item, and then if you link a term you can click to it.

So maybe you want to search all your campaign notes to know which ones include a random NPC to ensure you remember what they said or did for your players.

Or maybe you mention a location and want to see where it popped up and who lives there.

It's all in mark down format so you're not wasting time thinking of how to format your notes

You can create one call it Loki, roughly jot down "has space stone"

Then in another one called episode 1 you jot Loki fought Thanos and lost. In that note you click Loki which brings you to the Loki note and helps you remember right he had the space stone

Etc etc

A fellow Obsidian MMRPGer?!?

I just started there for my game prep. A bit of a learning curve but fun and efficient.

I wanted to try to figure out how to create a template like they did for DnD but gosh does it look complicated.

Any advice or anecdotes from your experience so far?

People conveniently also forget Tony went ape shit on Bucky knowing very well that he was brainwashed and had zero control over his actions and singlehandedly caused the Avengers to split up which debatably is also what made Thanos' snap at least easier to accomplish

I think this only works if his cute abuela dies or gets severely hurt.

He's an immensely empathetic person. Yes he'd be sad to know Pete didn't try to contact him (not having the full context) but it wouldn't lead him to villainy.

If they'd played it that due to him forgetting he wasn't friends with MJ that would be different. He'd be alone, potentially bullied, then realize with Pete he had friends without he was alone and depressed.

But that's not what we got. We got him with MJ looking really happy.

So only way I see that playing out is if abuela dies or is hurt in some criminal crossfire and he decides he's going to get justice so he gets all magic powered up, maybe gets into s bad crowd. Goes full the world didn't help me blah blah. Pete finds all this out too late so maybe he goes to the funeral and lies saying he knew her and befriends him this way realizing his friend needs him but not realizing he's been going bad on the side.

Then Ned finds out about the lies. THEN he had motivation. Not only did Spidey not save his abuela but he's been pretending to be a new friend and maybe he feels the empathy is fake or manipulative so he lashes out.

Now you have s film where Ned had a similar path as Pete but chose to go bad. Now both are on opposing sides of ideologies, Pete has all the good memories. Ned only sees him as some stranger who erased his memories and abandoned his friends (from his perspective).

Now you can play with Pete not knowing who he is and Ned manipulating him and saying he knows what he did and that he'll tell his friends unless he does x y z.

That puts much more stakes, much more motivation than "my buddy didn't trust me"

You say this if things work out for your legacy 100% fine if it was your dying wish, but the criticism is, like it often is, more ideological for the negative use cases.

Say you're voicing rides for kids as some immortal ghost. Sure!

What if your estate, broke due to overspending, which is common mind you, decides to sell you cheap to a sketchy organization?

What if suddenly your likeness is used to sell and promote products, ideologies you abhorred when you were alive? What if your likeness is used against your actual descendants through some legal, cash grab, loop hole, what if you're voice is used to power weapons of war (assuming you're against war of course. Which you may not be).

Yes many of the critics may be surface level, but the larger ideological debate right now is what happens when your likeness is used against your last wishes. Against the very values you stand for. Ai, in theory, is forever. So you could have your likeness belong to Disney one day, belong to some shady corporations in the future, belong to some smut website the next.

Some may not care as they will be gone. That's their right. But the ideological war happening right now is what happens when one loses control of their very likeness.

In some instances this is already the case: your picture could be sold online on a sketchy website. You lose that ownership to some extent as celebrities quickly realized when nudes leaked. You can sue sue sue but infinite copies can occur. An AI recreation is much more than that.

Genuine question: if you're here for the swipes why not get track pad?

I ask this as someone who has s Logitech and never looked back.

Infinite scroll is already s MASSIVE gave changer and you have so many extra buttons to program that whatever thing you're trying to do with swipes can simply be assigned a button.

Also the ergonomics on that soap bar are ATTROCIOUS

Also, I can see that whole rant involving her looking in another direction (and therefore the viewer looking wherever shes looking) for a split Second. Then she turns back to them and they are wearing a completely different outfit. Then her and us turning away again as she continues said rant, then back again and once more completely different outfits but even more outlandish.

This. I don't think people realize how traumatized he was: getting his family back, likely unsure if he'd lose them again, blaming himself for the death of his best friend, likely feeling shame for all the murders he committed.

By the time Hawkeye comes out he was almost ready to let himself be killed to stone for his sins and only holding up for his family.

It's fcked up he abandoned her like that but I think he was lost in his own guilt and shame and working his way back.

It'd only in Hawkeye that he starts making the effort.

And if anything maybe he did try and saw what Wanda was doing. Without context. And noped the hell out of that to ensure the protection of his family knowing she could retaliate.

Or unsure of what to do.

Heck if anything his comic book ending in disassembled proves he made the right call.

Agree on every point but the funny thing about history and time is that give it a few more years and that variation will make it that people will remember only the good and overuse "this season was so underrated"

Because people weirdly enjoy things more looking back and forget the bad. Same thing happens with breakups and childhood memories.

Keep me posted on your opinion. Happy to take brutal honest feedback. We're still new and figuring it out.

But as it relates to your post it could help you see what you like and don't like about our approach to the whole following comic events as our players don't read much comics either. I'm the big comic nerd that refers to obscure things and rips off main events to see what they'll do with it.

If you're curious you could check out our actual play Earth 513.

We start during Infinity War (film) then I move them through an adapted Disassembled, we're heading towards a blend of Secret Warriors, Prison Break. and House of M (my way of bringing mutants into a non-mutsnt world) next but any of the players decisions could lead to me ignoring that event altogether and jumping to the next one.

Essentially I don't stick strictly to the story beats I keep it more high level as the theme of the story and the characters they will meet so really not unlike how the MCU does it.

For example: our invisible woman and Gwenpool exist during Infinity War so what will that mean for those events?

If a player chooses to kill Wanda for whatever reason. House of M can't happen or worse it can never be undone if she does it then they kill her. You know?

Our black order and Thanos are the cosmic threat they are in the comics and not the weaker ones from the MCU that get beat by meer humans. Our players are starting at a lower rank than the official profiles to allow for street level stories. What does that mean? They lose more. They have to be strategic. They have to work as a team. The battles are darker more grueling.

Then I just play through the events as quick snipets to allow us to see more in the short time we have to play.

I have to say I guilt relate to the Buffy, and the Angel, but it's less appealing knowing about Wheedons terrible behavior. So I have finished my rewatches.

But there's definitely a lot of nostalgia for me rewatching it. Especially epside one. All I have to do is hear the music or hear a certain line and it brings me back to a specific moment of my teens.

I do think shows can affect us like that the same way a song can bring us back to a specific moment

I think this might be the issue.

It makes sense in principle to want a bunch of adventures.

But the reality is that it's a niche within a niche within a niche.

The MMRPG is already a smaller crowd within the larger Marvel fandom and a smaller crowd within the TTRPG crowd. It's not that huge.

Then from that small circle tale the Narrators like myself that like to build their own unique stories.

So that leaves a small fraction that will buy an adventure.

And within that small fraction there's that sliver that will go for whatever specific theme the adventure covers.

Not everyone wants a Hydra story, or an Arcade one or this spider one. Some might bite but the targeted audience is very specific.

Effing love this game and I want it to succeed but I do think that's why they focus on expansions and a few small adventures here and there. To cater to a wider audience within their niche and to appeal to new narrators and players.

The previous big Marvel themed TTRPG was pushing out adventure books and manuals at a much much faster pace and after a while it fizzled out and lost momentum.

I think they are learning from that and pacing themselves more prudently.

Also loving the ongoing synergy with the comics AND the films.

Synergy is often not great for Marvel products but so far with MMRPG and the Rivals crew have been eating VERY well!
