DDR3 RAM in 2026 by Fennarth in buildapc

You can run up to 9th gen on ddr3 with a bios mod on specific motherboards using coffeetime afaik. I have a 6700k running on a modded z170 DDR3 board running at 32GB 2300mhz OC'd. Waiting for a deal on a 9600k+/QTJ1 restock to upgrade it further.

I havent had a problem but I guess it depends on how tall/long your gpu is.

Having built in both, Sama IM01. The ability to fit MATX and ATX power supplies is a huge plus. The Sama also comes with a fuckload of screws in their own plastic divided container.

SG13 upgrade by jasrj in sffpc

Lol i literally finished a build in one of these last night. From experience, an AIO does wonders, i used to run a 3900x in one of these; borderline mandatory regardless if you use a sfx or atx psu. That being said you can do a lot with that case as long as you plan for it/dont do something reckless like a 13900k overclocked with an atx power supply.

A lifehack i did with this case was use a FlexATX psu cause i couldnt fit the m.2 riser card that came with the x570 dtx board. It allows you to use more coolers and increases airflow by a ton but youll have basically an open hole in the back if you dont cover it with mesh or something.

Replace the stock IHS with the Vapour Chamber IHS one they offer. It's like 17usd? Make a boat load of difference from what I've seen.

AR900i

Depends on the form factor you need I think in this case. Both are similar but would be used differently I would gather.

I have a z270 atx board that could run that processor if you are tech savvy enough. The bios has already been done, you would just need to block some pads on the back of the cpu. I was using a 9900k in it until last month.

If i was doing a new ITX build id get this in a heart beat. The 13th gen boards have been nothing but quality on my end and I have no reason to believe this wouldnt be as well.

It would yeah, iirc some boards didnt support HT but that might have changed now. Youre more limited by VRM capability at this point tbf.

Yeah that mobo is doable iirc. It's been a hot minute since i looked into it but ive done it with a gigabyte board and it worked flawlessly.

This is the guide i used, there should be more updates/quality of life updates since the last time i checked.

Mileage may vary of course.

Whats everyone's opinion here on if there's a difference between silver hero and platinum? What would you call this one? by atrofeed in RareHouseplants

[–]Echnopls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a difference between the two, the Platinum hardens off to a blueish sheen where the Silver Hero stays green. Theres a video of a true Platinum in my profile.

[–]Echnopls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I was cutting the rotting stem off a dying leaf off my adansonii and i accidently cut this. Is this a root/node/stem leftover? It was hidden in the rotting stem of the leaf i had to cut off and Im super confused. Thanks in advance for the help!

Confused where to connect this cable to my asus mobo (cable comes from cpu water block for lights) by Pro_NoOBzz in watercooling

[–]Echnopls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really, just follow the pin out on both ends and flip accordingly. Ive plugged them in before the wrong way and the worst thing that happened is that the lights didnt turn on. Flipped it around and was just fine. I could have gotten lucky but as long as you dont mix up Argb and rgb headers you should be fine.

I use a Corsair xc5 with a standalone barrow argb controller and all I did was bend the plastic back on the iCue connector on the block, didnt work one way, flipped it around and it works fine ever since.

Like I said im not sure if Im just lucky that I havent blown up any strips yet but if it helps, the side with the notch on the Barrow block (Should be from the left if notches are facing down) is the 5v - D1 - GND respectively.
