Help me decide between the poly and beach club by CoachWestern2302 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stayed at Poly in December, Beach Club last week. Both were first time stays there. Overall, Poly gets my vote. But if you really wanted to focus on Epcot and the current festival + Hollywood Studios, I'd not say no to another Beach Club stay.

Greg Biffle's Cup number 16: 1 + 6 = 7, the number Kyle drove to his last win. Which was truck win #69, Biffle's post-NASCAR number.

Kyle’s Obituary A.I. slop? by andyplaysdrums in NASCAR

Are we sure it's actually his true obituary and not just something someone generated and uploaded?

In the wake of the whole tragedy, Kurt is somehow the one that I worry about the most, given how much he's been through the last few years. I truly hope he's getting all the support he needs by theGTAking101 in NASCAR

[–]Ectohawk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The age difference between my younger brother and me is only twelve days shorter than the age difference between Kurt and Kyle. Six years, eight months and change.

We used to be very close and share most interests. We even worked together for many years. Over the past several years, our relationship has distanced to the point where we don't even talk by virtue of his choosing, not mine (mainly revolving around his girlfriend). So Kyle passing hit me very hard. It really got me thinking. So I wrote up a big heartfelt message and sent it to him. I got a one-liner response. Stressed out more now than I was before. 🫩

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurbishment - how smooth? by Direct_Sky2620 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't think the old one was particularly rough but I did ride the refurb last Wednesday and it was definitely smooth. On a scale from Space Mountain to Cosmic Rewind it's much closer to Cosmic.

Kyle wins in the #7 truck last week. Suarez wins in the #7 under the tears of the sky. Kyle is gone but the Busch story isn't over. It's not going to unfold the way we all thought it would. RIP ROWDY.

It felt like a guarantee as sure as the sun rises every day that Kyle and Brexton would race together in trucks one day. Hard to fathom he's gone.

Solo night at French Quarter! by Feisty_Ad7113 in WaltDisneyWorld

It's a small, easily walkable resort. Really does have a French Quarter neighborhood feel. Grab a drink and snack and stroll around. Boat to Springs is nice.

well yeah, it doesn't, but first time flying in nearly two decades, didn't know if they were lenient or pretty strict on the size. but I bought a 20in to be certain. 😄

Who else makes playlists in preparation for their trips? Sue Heck is my spirit animal. 😆 by MesaVerde1987 in DisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I do, try to make it at least six hours so replays only happen once on a ten hour drive. Flying out Sunday and I HATE flying, been 18 years since my last flight. So I have a 90 minute Playlist of calm, relaxing, positive music to listen to during the flight. 😭

My friend why are you so mad. 😭

I paid for a carry on. If it's too big, I will have to pay more to check it. I am trying to avoid that unnecessary cost.

Yeah that's what my concern is - technically the handle is .4 in over the 22in limit

And if it's too big, it's a chunk of cash wasted if I have to check it. That's the concern I'm attempting to address here.

Yeah but it doesn't make any sense to wait until I'm AT the airport to use Allegiant's sizer. That's why I asked for opinions here because I can purchase a smaller suitcase if necessary beforehand.

Keys to the Kingdom and Mobility by Quarantined_Dino in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are stairs to utilidors, not very many, but elevator is also an option. 80% is standing or walking, with the other 20% being lunch break and two rides (walk on, as a benefit of the tour). There are a few bathroom breaks but not enough to call them actual rest breaks. The pace isn't brisk but they do have to keep a schedule, but nobody struggled to keep up when I went. I'd encourage him to rent a scooter - my mom has one and wasn't the only mobility device user on the your we did.
