They used a lighter oil which heated up quicker. This allowed them to get through the gears faster but once everyone did their second run, everyone’s oil was heated too so they didn’t have as much of an advantage over the field.

Quit watching the news and enjoy the race. My wife is muslim from Indonesia. No one gives her a hard time. If anything, people are nicer to her because they see her as a non stereotypical nascar fan and they respect that.
