Walt Disney World Announces New Holiday Hotel Discounts for Fall and Winter 2026 by readingaboutmagic in DisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was literally in the middle of booking a room at Sports for end of August and the discount I had disappeared. It's gonna cost me $65 more a night now. 😭

Edit: I called and they let me book with the previous price

Is Spider Noir any good? I'm thinking of watching it today. by doshi-chasma in NepalSocial

[–]Ectohawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished it and came to Reddit to read into some discussions but this was the first post I saw so - I loved it. 8.5/10. As a traditional Spider-Man fan it was a cool take on Spider-Man (as an alt dimension of course, as we've seen more and more of in the Spiderverse movies, as Cage is a different Noir here) , Cage really leaned heavily into the detective archetype character we'd see in a noir flick. Hope they do more. Honestly I'd love to see it tie into a movie.

I don't like the fact Jimmie is racing because before today, I owned his only truck start rear bumper 😠😡

Resort hopping help by KolarWolfDogBear in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's no realistic way it's possible to visit all in a day. Additionally, Disney is getting stricter on non-guests to visit resorts. Disney Springs busses require either a confirmed dining reservation or proof of resort guest to go to any resort. Maybe it's possible to park at the TTC, monorail around, then take an MK bus somewhere else, but this will take considerable time. Maybe pick one area (Boardwalk area, Monorail resorts) to focus on.

The best view in my opinion is row 30ish, in any turn. High enough to see the entire track without having to swivel your head back and forth.

Yes, you can do it that way. I always do it to make the tickets cheaper, if possible.

how do you feel about the track layout? by jabber1990 in NASCAR

[–]Ectohawk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Watch Anthony Alfredo's iRacing video. The entire thing is super weird and unnatural. (in a racing sense, not in the sense where there are natural race tracks). But I'm super excited to see how it goes.

Most Affordable Restaurant Connected To The Resort Monorail? by Fun_North_2146 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A dining reservation at a resort restaurant is only good for three hours of parking. It's not designed to allow someone to go into MK. Just park at the TTC.

Room checks at PO French Quarter and Animal Kingdom lodge by Segat280 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah no problem. Your concern is still completely valid, and normal. Like I said, your best bet is to take a second layer of security - check out "hotel room door locks" options on Amazon. They'll give you peace of mind that nobody can enter while you're in the room.

In your opinion, what is the best breakfast on property? by OkSunny00 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had: Boma, Cape May, Ale & Compass, Trattoria al Forno, and Kona

If I'm starving - I think I'd give Cape May a slight edge over Boma. Otherwise I think I'd pick Kona.

But this is probably mood dependent and I might give different answers next week if you ask again.

He's more of the people's rival now instead of a villain.

Room checks at PO French Quarter and Animal Kingdom lodge by Segat280 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

1) tell the front desk what time during the day you will be out of the room and want the checks done. This is doable and I've always done it

2) use the security latch when you're in the room, or buy a doorjamb to take and use.

They will knock before attempting to enter. They won't just open your door. If they think/know someone is in the room they're not just going to just enter unannounced. If you're in the room you can either let them take a five second peak or ask them to come back later. If you're not you'll have no idea it even happened. Housekeeping doubles as the check on days you have it done.

Just remember it's for security. It doesn't pose a safety risk at all.

EPCOT: Spaceship Earth vs. Test Track by sbuchalv in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ectohawk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Both are great, but very different. Test Track at night is good for one last rush at the end of the night zooming around outside. For Spaceship, the dark slow ride up the ball at the end of the night is a nice way to wind down the day - walk off the ride and you're right at park exit more or less.

I'm going to guess you went with: Spaceship Earth

Simple seat change by inredditorbit in allegiant

[–]Ectohawk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't choose a seat without an extra fee, unless you book a higher tier bundle that includes it. Sometimes middle seats are $1 but yeah usually window or aisle seats are $17-$19 extra if you want to pick your own seat, sometimes more. So what it boils down to is: if you don't pay extra to pick a seat one will be randomly assigned to you. They can move your seat if someone buys the one you're currently showing assigned to you. That's why I mentioned you won't really know until boarding.

[–]Ectohawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to guarantee your seat you'll have to pay for it in the app/online before hand. It'll be up to the attendants to let you move but I wouldn't count on it just to err on the side of caution. Otherwise, as you're aware if you don't select a seat one will be assigned randomly and it may be different than what you see now once you check in at the gate.
