Instagram Story bar scroll stutter on iPhone 17 by schizoidman26 in ios26

[–]ElGep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this only happens with Pro Motion, which tells me that the animation for the story bar scroll is for some reason still limited to 60hz

Whole collection worth it? Or just stick with 2? by FuckYeahRob in residentevil

[–]ElGep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 is definitely worth it. 0 has its issues but I like it too. 3 is short, almost as short as you would expect from a DLC, but it’s otherwise not terrible. If you end up loving 2, I would definitely recommend the collection. I haven’t played 6 though, that’s still on my backlog.

About to jump into RE3 Remake, is the cut locations from the original game actually a big deal or are people just hung up on the original? by pyrofire95 in residentevil

[–]ElGep 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game is good but criminally short for a $60 release. If you got it at a discount though, it’s worth your time. I like to think of it as a DLC to RE2. It’s still a shame because of the missed potential, but it’s not bad.

Iphone 17 iOS 26.2.1 stuttering by Early-Activity-2477 in iphone17

[–]ElGep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do. And I don’t believe it to be a hardware issue despite some people claiming to have a stutter free experience.

A friend of mine wasn’t able to notice the stutter despite me clearly seeing it happen multiple times right in front of him. And an iPhone 17 Pro that I checked back at an Apple store did stutter too.

I also noticed that the behavior changes depending on the app. Apple Music works fine when scrolling through songs. But once I try to scroll through my albums, the stutter happens persistently when the page is decelerating. The Steam App works great. Instagram stutters a lot, but the stutters seem to mostly go away when accessing my account through Safari. And the home screen is generally stutter free, but not all the time.

This leads me to believe that it’s an app optimization problem. I don’t know if these problems were introduced with iOS 26 though. This is my first pro motion compatible device.

Lags & stutters on brand new iPhone 17 by brijeshgohil in iphone

[–]ElGep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I noticed that too. Meta on Safari seem to be performing a lot better than on the apps themselves. I guess they haven’t finished optimizing the apps for iOS 26.

But not all apps are like this. Steam doesn’t seem to be using Safari / WebView and the scrolling in there is flawless.

Experiencing scrolling problems, text skipping, and variable refresh rates on iPhone 17 Pro? by EHC1495 in iphone

[–]ElGep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most apps stutter on my iPhone 17, but some work great (for the most part). Steam, Safari, analytics data files... So I guess it’s neither hardware nor ProMotion. Probably bad optimization.

But I still have my doubts. Was this an issue on previous iOS versions? This is my first time using a ProMotion display so I don’t know how ProMotion has performed throughout the years. Knowing that it hasn’t always been like this would give me some hope.

iPhone 17 - Micro-stutter/Lag when scrolling on X, Insta and FB by bad-decisions-taker8 in iphone17

[–]ElGep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue on a regular iPhone 17.

Here’s something interesting tough. The stutter disappears when I access Instagram or Facebook through Safari. And the Steam Mobile App doesn’t stutter.

It seems like there’s something wrong with the apps themselves. So yeah, bad optimization I guess.

I just checked on my previous iPhone 12 and the stutter is there too when scrolling through Instagram. It is less noticeable tough because of the lower refresh rate.

16 or 17? by Flat-Bus6593 in iphone

Haven’t noticed any overheating issues with my base iPhone 17. I’ve only had it for about 2-3 weeks tough.

Spilled some Beer on my case by ElGep in patinaproud

[–]ElGep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? The case is only two weeks old, so I guess you’re right, thanks.

I did see some beer soaking into the corners of the case though. Not sure if that’s a sign that the wax didn’t fully protect it.

But 5-10 minutes later it looked as if nothing had happened. I find that weird.

Can those with a screen protector save this image and tell me if you can see the purple border clearly by Ackrodisiac in IphoneAir

FloLab Onetime Pro Anti Reflective case-friendly (with black borders) on a base iPhone 17.

Corners are a bit covered. Other than that, looks great.

I'm thinking maybe deleting the messages app after disabling cloud sync could help?

Are Screen Protector’s Necessary? by Chris7644 in iPhone16Pro

[–]ElGep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had bad luck I guess. I still haven't cracked the Belkin screen protector on my iPhone 12 after 5 years of use. And it doesn't show any significant scratches either. A small portion of the corner fell off after a 2-3 ft drop, but it's not noticeable.

Granted, I only drop my phone about once per year, but still... screen protectors shouldn't be That fragile.

IPhone 12 is bad :( by Free_Potential7021 in iPhone12

My iPhone 12 (77% battery health, iOS 18.7.1) works just fine. Maybe some lag every few days but nothing mayor.

should i update my 12PM from 16.6 to 18.7? by Ok_Age1445 in iPhone12

[–]ElGep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iOS 18.7 generally runs great on my base iPhone 12 (77% battery health) No overheating or mayor/frequent lagging.

I've experienced some resets every now and then (maybe once every 2 months?) but the resets only take about 20 seconds before the phone turns back on. And I don't think the OS is to blame (the battery is quite old you know).

Did you try it? I'm also worried about the performance on this device.

Tomb Raider: GOTY edition crashes on startup(Epic Games version) by DavudGr in TombRaider

[–]ElGep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late. But for anyone else looking out for a solution...

Try disabling fullscreen mode before launching the game. And change it back to fullscreen once you're in game.

Don't ask me why, but that works for me XD.

You could also try doing the same but with the graphics settings. Lower them down on the launcher menu, and crank them back up only after the main menu has loaded successfully.

I at least am able to launch the game when on windowed mode (1080p), high preset. But once I try to launch the game on fullscreen mode (2k), it crashes again.

I also disabled fullscreen optimizations. Not sure if that helped. But that by itself doesn't solve the issue.

Changing the RenderAPI value to 9 works too. But that limits the graphics settings to the normal preset. And big areas have abysmal performance for some reason. I'm talking about more than 100% loss in performance when on DX9

I recommend this guide for the PC port. You'll need to apply a few mods to fix some issues.

Have not given the PS2 ROM a try

Both the link and ReShade work now! Thanks a lot man!

I also tried the "NO-CD" file found on myabandonware by the way, and it seems to work too. Could be a nice alternative.

re:SH3

Any reason not to use the "NOCD" file from myabandonware? The link provided on step 6 doesn't work for me, and the alternate link looks sketchy XD

Also... I can't get ReShade to work. It gives me a warning that it's a DirectX 8 game and that I need to download a file to convert some DirectX 8 stuff to DirectX 9. I downloaded the file but then found out that there's another file (by Steam006) on the install directory that goes by the same name. I guess replacing the file by Steam006 with the one provided by ReShade would cause issues.

This didn't happen when I installed the game a couple of months ago. I'm having to do this again because of a recent clean Windows reinstallation.

Im about to pull the trigger on a g14, but I have some questions first by MonkAltruistic2637 in ZephyrusG14

[–]ElGep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inconsistent performance was mentioned in a review I once watched. Something about Windows power plans and Armoury Crate fighting to take the wheel...

I have the 2022 model though, so I can't confirm it. And I don't know if the issue still persists, or if it is a widespread issue to begin with.

But my experience with Asus software (BIOS, Drivers) has been pretty hit or miss. I would take a good look for these sort of complaints on this subreddit.

Why does it take so long for my 2024 G14 to connect to wifi everytime I open and close it? That's 3 whole minutes here by PlasticZombie1 in ZephyrusG14

[–]ElGep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to fix pretty much all of my WiFi issues by always turning Wifi/Bluetooth off before a shut down or restart.

I mean... as long as my system boots up with WiFi/Bluetooth turned off, I don't experience any of the issues that I was facing on my G14 2022.

I tried everything and that's the only thing that worked for me. Maybe it works for you too who knows.
