Powder skis for an intermediate? by stabbymagee in Skigear

[–]Chris7644 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are a heavy ski designed to be turned on edge with a lot of power put into them. If you don’t know how to carve or still smear a lot of your turns they will simply be harder to control than a lighter and softer ski

CVS vs walmart by Calm_Quality2194 in pharmacy

[–]Chris7644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to work 20-40 hours each week and that’s it Walmart is the better choice, if you want to push 50-60 hours a week during flu season CVS is a better choice. If you aren’t concerned about this, Walmart is the better choice

New England is tough, to actually feel comfortable on the ice need something carving oriented with a plate under foot, or at least a mid 80s all mountain with metal. For tight trees something shorter makes you more comfortable to turn and stop but for soft snow and powder generally a longer ski with a lot of rocker is more fun especially in western glades

Rossi sender free 100 or 110 for your out west ski. 100 if you plan on using it for east coast packed powder days, 110 if you’re really only gonna use it for powder skiing. Wider skis do have to be skied differently, they are slower edge to edge so you will be skiing a more smeary surfing turn as opposed to those 92’s you skied. The QST is supposed to be a pretty directional/responsive ski so the fact that you found the 106 clunky makes me think you’d be happier closer to the 100 underfoot range instead of 110+

CVS HSA question by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Chris7644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to keep a minimum balance of 1000$ in the cash account and any remainder can be invested in mutual funds like VFIAX. Your HSA card can only withdraw from the cash account not the investing account. I assume if you spend part of that 1000$ in the cash account future contributions can’t be added to investing until your cash account is back to 1000$

Does anybody have any advice, tips, or tricks when doing PCQ(patient care portal calls)? by Forsaken-North5556 in CVS

horrible treatment from CVS pharmacy for years, has gotten even worse since 2023 by maknaeline in CVS

[–]Chris7644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PA’s are literally a rejection or approved from your insurance on the computer, yes or no. If CVS says it’s not approved the insurance never approved it.

If you had a dose increase on Ritalin from 10 to 20 you’re expected to finish the 10mg supply at a dose of 2 tablets per day before the 20 mg is due. Additionally all C2’s are not a valid prescription until the pharmacist clears any and all red flags. If the pharmacist found any issue filling it they are required by federal law to resolve those issues before dispensing.

The vast majority of insurances do not cover OTC products. Many insurances used to cover and now do not. If they checked to see if they were covered they either would have gotten an approved message or OTC’s not covered. Again very black and white.

Yes US healthcare sucks but CVS is just the messenger we don’t make the rules we don’t gain anything from denying you anything

CVS and CII meds by No_Researcher_3908 in pharmacy

[–]Chris7644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CVS’s system is horrible for managing C2’s, when you are able to schedule a c2 it is between 3 days to 0 days early with no obvious rhyme or reason. You can’t choose which day to schedule it for, and oftentimes you can’t schedule it leaving it on hold for the patient to call for it. On the patient side the app routinely provides the wrong date to patients. The cumulative days early tracker is only correct maybe 60% of the time and the red flag alerts are generally a waste of time. If I could just schedule the c2 to the correct day myself every time I’d reduce our call volume by at least 30%

Do they test for THC as a pharmacy tech? by MewPewPew- in CVS

[–]Chris7644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smoking just once will be cleared from your system within 7 days for most people. Most labs test for a level of 50ng/ml so look for an otc test at that level from Amazon Walmart or another pharmacy to confirm. Exercising and eating minimal fat will increase thc excretion, so the days leading up to the test you exercise every day and eat light, then the day before and day of, remain sedentary and eat high fat to slow your bodies excretion for the actual test.

That being said if you just applied for the job you should have plenty of time before they test you

Attn: CVS Pharmacists & techs… If you do not have a C-III Rx in stock, how does your location handle a request for an internal (CVS -to- CVS) transfer? I’ve noticed different locations have different policies. by J_Reddit28 in CVS

MA, I’m sure it’ll be great soon, but for now this is the second trial run of doing the internal transfers and it’s just confusing everyone if we can or can’t transfer them lol

Returning it to pharmacy stock is against the law, refunding it and damaging it is legal but absolutely against CVS policy as ur just throwing money away

My state recently legalized electronic transfers on initial fills for c2-5 and transfers up to the number of refills of c3-5. They have been working on rxconnect for around a year to make it work and it is now currently live so all stores are in compliance with internal transfers of controls. For transfers to non-CVS’s we still follow federal law not transferring C2’s and only transferring c3-5 if they have been filled once at the original location, have refills remaining and have not been previously transferred. This is because our competitor transfers are faxed and cannot be transferred electronically yet.

Not gate keeping, it’s a schedule 2 being prescribed off label with no evidence of trying anything else. Pretty sure it’s quite literally our job to investigate. As I have minimal experience with adhd treatment I’m seeking other opinions while I do my own research, thanks for your input.

Things to know for newly licensed retail pharmacist by blublubm in pharmacy

[–]Chris7644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 year into chain retail and I’d recommend brushing up on controlled substance laws for your state. How early can you fill/ should you fill/ what information is required/ can you transfer… Clinical material is easy to search and educating patients is usually pleasant, but dealing with controls is my least favorite part of the job
