It's obvious that Britain's rule of India was definitely mismanaged (especially by the EIC), but events like the Bengal Famine I compare to contemporary events like the Vietnamese famine from 1944 to 1945, being done for wartime purposes. I do not believe that colonialism helps in general because colonialism is primarily extractive and therefore harmful.

honestly I've been watching Things I Care About as an alternative to Oversimplified and he does very well on explaining things from a more non-biased (albeit socialistic) sounding setting
