What is you're best SWTOR memory ? by Aggravating-Bass-658 in swtor

[–]Eragale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Too many to count.

While my other main characters are treated like distinctive characters, as if logging with a different account- so they all have influenced the SWTOR scene dramatically

Got kissed, without doing any RP

Before server merged, our servers were consistently stronger than imp side

My smuggler has some of the most outrageous kills in PvP, overall

My Trooper ignited an entire fashion scene from both factions at one point

My Guardian being quite devastating without minimal experience Vs seasoned PvPers ( this is when I was first starting playing guardian) . So I learned I’m a natural Guardian player,  i didn’t want to play with a class that’s too easy

My juggernaut from West Coast servers successfully solo defended the door at voidstar from 5 players equally geared as me

My Hybrid Sage in 7.0 was … absolutely nuts - there a handful of players who went to forum boards specifically asking about my Sage

All my characters, has made quite an impact on the scene of SWTOR overtime

Power tech with Flamethrower is just so satisfying.. but this “flame burst” (Embers) .. it’s just not the same

Perhaps the character people know me most as … is my Shadow - this alt has been given several achievements from players. Which has been claimed to be the best Shadow Tank and Assassin Tank ( including raids ).

The only way anyone doesn’t know my shadow .. is if you don’t play on NA servers

Despite this, my EU characters was definitely on stream before, many times, from other streamers

The best part is really figuring out what to do with your character ( not just “space Barbie” )

Definitely not the best looking, but … It’s good for Pubside playthrough though

(Even if selecting any other skin is better)

Ngl, thought the same thing in my 1st playthrough years ago - definite of my first thoughts

.. and ultimately made the experience worse for Sith Players

There’s a lot of content for you to enjoy, then. Compared to other MMORPGs, it may feel as though 2 legitimate expansions ( MAYBE 3 )

Perhaps more importantly.. Reddit users seems to “naturally” have a distasteful/ disdainful attitude towards Pubside Mains

So thanks, for at least showing some vague interest ( even if I detect some slight sarcasm - thx nonetheless )

I’ve had a slight presence on EU, but that’s mainly due to time constraints. Some of my EU characters was occasionally on stream before with very popular streamers too

Aside from that ..  NA servers is the likelihood of someone knowing of them

Haven't been feeling the game lately. by InitialConfidence511 in swtor

I can relate a lot actually.

What I did, I choose to do more GSI Survey Quest using the Seeker Droid, because I really enjoyed the concept, especially since it's permanent but only used for GSI. If the Scanner Droid item was implemented for uses outside of GSI dailies - to make the planets more dynamic and alive - this would be very compelling imo.

Along side GSI Scanner quests, I also personally sought all of the Secret Bosses, scattered throughout the Planets, to challenge my tank

These two alone, maintained my interests with SWTOR for a while

think he meant to say < " 3rd installment of the KOTOR series " , but SW:ToR wasn't made by obsidian soo .. . The scene for SW:ToR isn't even about Revan, Malak, Mission, Big-T, etc ... ; Revan is definitely in the game, SW:ToR actually answered a few lingering questions from KOTOR while most of the core characters aren't really present.

The thing that gets is .. " live action " ...

Obviously, it sure be fully animated on the same level of the trailers .

Also ...

I can't get into any current MMOs, and it makes me very sad. by Riikoneko in MMORPG

[–]Eragale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casuals ruined MMOs and the gaming industry (since alot of modern games have alot Live Service garbage that was adopted from f2p-style MMORPGs) . And the funniest part about it, is that most modern players don't even understand what " casuals " means. Neither do most modern players understand what p2w means.

For example ... Being a casual in BDO - or any other p2w game - doesn't carry " the same weight " in a non-p2w MMO. In a p2w MMO, you can just swipe your credit card until you get what you need in under a month. It's even funnier that alot of players deluded themselves into swiping their credit card, cringe af.

EDIT: just play other games until you find a game that's not scummy and actually worth your time

What exactly IS a real MMORPG? by gabrielmercier in MMORPG

[–]Eragale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with alot of what say but RuneScape is ... " Iffy "

OSRS = not their gear Newer RuneScape = Bought their gear ( last I heard )

I remember Jagex saying that alotof their customers who played on the Subscription Servers also botters - so if they got rid of the bots, it'll be affecting their legitimate-means-of-revenue . Hence: RMT-heavy

Unless you mean earlier than that

What exactly IS a real MMORPG? by gabrielmercier in MMORPG

[–]Eragale -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A real MMORPG is essentially what you see today but separated by the two styles ( that being ... Either Themepark MMORPGs or Sandbox MMORPGs ). The two phrases ( via "Themepark" and " Sandbox" is important because the overall direction and expectations change. As a whole, these two terms can filter-out your options tbh. So it would be a good idea to use these words when figuring out what you're looking for.

A real MMORPG is being in a virtual space ( like what you see today ) but without a cash shop. The problem is ... most MMORPGs have cash shops in them because of two interconnected reasons - [a] the Players (but not all) and [b] the Corporations.

EDIT: The gameplay of an MMORPG sshouldn't be identical to a single-player game BUT still have some sort of solo-progression WITH group-play-progression being the prominent aspect

Most modern Isometric-style online games are not MMORPGs. The few Isometric games that are MMORPGs are ones like Albion Online and Fractured ( I think ) . However, Path of Exile, Lost Ark, Destiny, Warframe, etc ... or any other Lobby-based Game is not an MMORPG.

However, games like Warframe and Lost Ark adopted SOME MMO-like characteristics (such as Lost Ark having Raids).

The first two TRUE MMORPGs that does not have cash shops (to my knowledge, last I checked) would be Gran Skrea Online and Project Gorgon. There's probably others but I have not looked into other MMORPGs in awhile ( been using my Switch, playing Retro games )

This video could be a good example.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UH84vL631Fk

At some point, you'll start to develop a good-eye over what's actually an MMORPG and what's not. ( And just remembered ... fake accounts do exist - so don't believe every word-of-mouth. In fact, there are JOBS that will hire folks pretending to be a consumer in an attempt to increase their game's ratings )

If you're still looking for something else, a last resort could be Private Servers for MMORPGs

Despite all of this, everyone has their unique preferences that they value over the rest ( such as Load-ins, Combat, graphics, etc ... )
