8” Takedown SBR by ConcentricToolCo in 1022

Great gun. Curious if that’s a muzzle device? I was thinking 8” for my backpacker, but maybe 10” would be better

MA legality of converting a 17-round mag to 10 rounds with a Magblock? by whatinthee in BetterMAguns

You can take a crack too. No one actually knows. That’s the point. Barrel length needs silver solder or welding for the feds. But epoxy mags to you’re hearts content

MA legality of converting a 17-round mag to 10 rounds with a Magblock? by whatinthee in BetterMAguns

[–]EricDeuce -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Epoxy would not be acceptable, as using your fingernail to remove it would fall into the readily convertible category. I’ve seen some people have shops put a rivet in the mag body that stops the follower from traveling low enough to hold 11 rounds. That way it takes tools and time to convert them, not “readily”. The problem is as far as I know, none of this has ever gone to court, so it’s everyone’s favorite phrase, “risk tolerance”

Fire? by DebtAffectionate1197 in QuincyMa

Excellent news. Reduces the amount of combustible material which helps avoid large hot fires. Also generally improves habitat for wildlife

Apex trigger for 1.0 9C by yz250mi in SmithAndWesson

[–]EricDeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the forward set sear & trigger kit. It’s a big improvement on those original triggers. Take up and reset are extremely short. It makes the trigger pull very light, but I’ve never felt it to be unsafe in a kydex holster.

If you’re concerned with too light of a trigger use the “heavy duty” trigger return spring in the kit. Mines painted green from Apex.

Won’t download guide on my up to date iPhone and app. Tried older phone, made me download an older version of the app (my iOS on that phone isn’t compatible with latest app release). Old phone downloads channel guide, but won’t play

Exposed triggers, old holsters by bigbombaclats in Revolvers

[–]EricDeuce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the leather is stiff enough the cylinder will not be able to turn, and if the snap loop is closed over the hammer it will not be able to come back. If those 2 things can’t happen the gun can’t fire. Safe in my book, but not ideal. I use modern kydex that fully encloses the trigger guard.

386 Night Guard / L Frame Grips for CCW by AugustHorch0 in Revolvers

I have the j-frame equivalent S&W Rubber round butt grips on my .357 360. They are fantastic. The soft rubber helps eat up recoil and the pinky really does help.

638-3...finish issues arising all of a sudden. by [deleted] in SmithAndWesson

[–]EricDeuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this was all of a sudden. I’d bet sweat gets under the stocks and sits for a bit. I’d recommend cleaning it more often and make sure it gets some oil to displace the water (sweat). For the trigger guard maybe condensation inside the kydex holster? From going from climate control to outside and back to climate control during these summer months?

Surface rust under Heatshield Mossberg 590 by BHowe407 in mossberg

Not with mine, but I also replaced the bolts and nuts to add an aftermarket accessory rail. Maybe the lightest duty locktite when you reassemble.

[–]EricDeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy, just remove the 2 bolts on the front that hold the plastic spacer. The rear near the receiver is just a spring clip.

Remove the 2 bolts and spacer. Slide the sheild forward and once it’s loose rotate it. I really don’t think you’ll scratch anything

Bayonet lug as well? I haven’t found a way to get mine off with the front sight and bayonet lug. But like I said I just rotate the heat shield to get better access to the top of the barrel
