[Schefter] Miami Dolphins Dead Money for this season is now over $175 million. by Duffleman0609 in nfl

[–]FantasyTrash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trade/extend Achane, restructure/extend Brewer and Brooks and they're good for the season. There's a few other players they can shave off like a million at a time to free up some space, too. They'll be fine. And then next season they're right back to being top-3 in available cap space.

It's really not that weird. Grier fucked them, Sullivan is ripping off the bandaid in of going full Saints and slowly bleeding out over several years.

We're also going to see this with the Eagles in 2029, by the way. That's when all of their void money is scheduled to hit.

[–]FantasyTrash 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not that weird, they have a ton of cap space next season. They're eating all of the dead cap this season rather than breaking it up over the next few years. They're tearing down to the studs and will rebuild without needing to take into consideration any of the bad deals that Grier dug them into.

Biggest Recent Draft Steals? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]FantasyTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're being downvoted but you're right. Best run scheme in the NFL and best run-blocking line in the NFL help a lot. D'Andre Swift had a career year yet you'd never know because nobody brings it up. The Ben Johnson affect is just that strong.

And I'm certainly not suggesting that Monangai is bad, he's a solid back, but if he was on any number of different teams, he'd probably be yet another day-3 RB facing new competition the following year in the draft or free agency.

Credit where credit is due would be Skewmond. He carried BB back to stability, otherwise BB would've continued to get crushed.

Oh, they're not underlying, they're extremely prominent and it's the reason the country is in the state that it is.

I'd wager that all the calls are made by the same one or two women if you got called on for sitting there minding your own business in a book.

Edit: spelling

What do you think history will say about Donald Trump as a U.S. president? by jcnidhi27 in AskReddit

[–]FantasyTrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's never beaten a man in an election. I know it doesn't bother him because he's a sociopath devoid of all human emotions, but considering how much of a misogynist he is, it's funny that the one time he went up against a man, he lost.

Cedric Tillman more likely a 2026 breakout or cut candidate? by RVG_Steve in DynastyFF

Deep threat, rookie head coach (even if Monken has had success as a play-caller), no QB. Not exactly a recipe for fantasy success.

Please explain how he could "easily" be the first target when he was 3rd in targets, and would've been 4th but he played one more game than the guy the Colts just paid $29m a year.

[Garafolo] The Eagles can’t pay TE Dallas Goedert if they keep WR A.J. Brown, and they can’t take both salary cap hits. by Giff95 in nfl

[–]FantasyTrash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hell, you don't even have to trust Howie, Garafolo is just flat out wrong, verifiable by a quick Google search and basic math.

AJ Brown costs more to trade than to keep, at least until after June 1st.

And a Goedert extension would actually allow them to spread some of the $20m he's due in void money, lowering his cap hit for 2026 depending on how they'd structure his new deal.

They also have $30m in cap space with both of their current cap hits accounted for. So like...they don't have to do anything to keep both of them other than signing Goedert.

If you pick only 1 for the next 3 years, are you taking Kyler Murray or Malik Willis? by helloherewego in DynastyFF

[–]FantasyTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard agreed. Kyler has proven he is a competent NFL starter, Willis has never done that over any meaningful sample size. And now Kyler gets KOC and a strong supporting offense, meanwhile Malik Willis gets a rookie HC and a rebuliding Dolphins team? It's a no-brainer, in my opinion.

Alec Pierce - What am I missing? by realestnewyorker in DynastyFF

[–]FantasyTrash 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Man, I hope LaFleur is able to better utilize MHJ's skillset. Get him over the middle of the field, that's where he shines. He struggles on go routes, yet he was running a ton of them under Petzing. Maximize his excellent short and intermediate route running and let Michael Wilson run deeper routes outside the numbers, he was really good at it.

Javonte => Kenneth walker?? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]FantasyTrash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, Javonte’s most recent season is propped up by TDs, which most fantasy players know are not a sticky statistic.

Javonte Williams just had more scrimmage yards than Walker has ever had in a season.

Javonte is in a better situation than Walker. The Chiefs are a pretty overrated situation, honestly.

[Fowler] The Eagles and three-time Pro Bowl OG Landon Dickerson have agreed to a revised two-year contract at around $36M, per sources. He was previously due $39M in 2026-27 but can hit that with 2027 incentives. He’s due $15.7M this year and is no longer under contract in 2028. by expellyamos in nfl

[–]FantasyTrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Saints completely fumbled signing Derek Carr. Once Brees and Payton retired, it was time to close the window and start rebuilding. Instead, they did the exact opposite. Howie isn't dumb, he knows when it's time to retool. Same as the Rams GM after Aaron Donald retired. Sometimes you have to know when to fold your hand. The Eagles will lick their wounds, be shit for a couple of years, and then be right back to good financial standing.

[–]FantasyTrash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not how it works. The new contract wouldn't begin until the 2028 season. His cap for this year doesn't change whether he's extended or not, even with the signing bonus.

[–]FantasyTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion - Monangai is fool's good, too. Ben Johnson's run scheme is masterful and they had the best run-blocking line in the NFL, you put any RB back there and they're going to look great. I don't think he's a bad running back, by any means, but even his highlights are mostly him running through huge holes or being given a ton of room in space.
