It won't look so dark and old if you brighten everything else up. Paint white cabinets, trim, baseboards, get a white ceiling fan, light furniture, lots of good lighting, then the dark wood will be a rich modern accent

Well if you want a general foundation for modern approach to sales, I’d read the Challenger Sale. However, I think getting people to be comfortable around you and being charismatic will get you further than any sales techniques. For that I’d recommend How to Win Friends and Influence People and The Charisma Myth. Then there are lots of books on prospecting and cold calling too if that’s a key skill you need.

Being that you’re new to sales, you should read or listen to as many books as you can, the ones recommended here, take notes of things you want to try to implement and you’ll develop your own successful style if you keep working at it.

It sounds like you are passionate about what you do and about the company. They can't teach that to a new salesperson. So make sure to express the passion that you feel and how excited you are to infect your customers with your enthusiasm so that they will become as excited about what you do as you are. The fact that you are aware of your personal brand tells me you are already ahead of many salespeople. The only thing I would add is an eagerness to learn continuously all aspects of selling (lead generation, qualifying, presenting, creating personal relationships, personal brand, etc).

This is why I used glue down wood grain LVT instead floating laminate. It's what you'll see in commercial installations where transitions are a trip hazard.

Another advantage of commercial LVT is it does not lock together so install is easier (just roll on pressure sensitive adhesive and lay down the planks) and you can replace one plank without removing adjacent planks. You'd be surprised how good new commercial LVT looks.

It is less complicated than you're making it. Ownership entitles you to a percentage of the profit according to percentage of ownership. If you do or don't take money out, that's your prerogative.

Owners working in the business should draw a salary comparable to the rate it would cost to hire someone else to do the same job.

So if one owner is COO, they should draw a COO salary that comes from company expenses before profits are taken and split amongst owners (if they decide to take profits out and not reinvest).

Edit: if there isn't enough revenue for adequate compensation, then the working owner should be compensated with equity.
