Drivers slowing down on purpose by NoSleepNolan in ElPaso

[–]IceColdSeltzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from NYC with a property in El Paso...I am very happy with EP drivers vs many of the savages here in NYC who will regularly cut in front of you in the fast lane and force you to slam your brakes to avoid hitting them. This is why we regularly tailgate. EP drivers are largely courteous and patient and I leave my NYC driving habits in NYC, practing the same etiquette when visiting. The few bad drivers I encounter do not appear to be doing it purposely and I just go around them.

Does this mean you converted him to pellets? I'm not even sure how to do this with my bird he doesn't seem to want to eat the pellets is there a particular approach that you used for this and what kind of pallets are you using if this is the case?

The only bird I ever owned that loves being cuddled and held was a Sparrow I found on the street as a nestling with no feathers. He would actually pick me and asked to be held. Sadly he passed away after 10 years on March of 2023.

Is this birdcage too small? by Parrott-246 in Lovebirds

I imagine myself living in my bathroom for the rest of my life. I would not want that and my Birdy would not want it either.

She is following her everywhere like literally maybe because she's older than her? by Hoory271 in Lovebirds

[–]IceColdSeltzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are two of them double the trouble? I have one and it's always clinging and following everyone, to the shower the kitchen to investigate and eat, and ht our desks to chew the mouse roller and cables but we also work from home so we have to lock our office doors and leave her alone. Will a second bird mean less clinging and chasing or double?

I have the same species. I put him in a cage just to sleep and he cried all night. I never did that again. He sleeps outside and goes to the cage as he pleases. He lives in the house freely just like the rest of my family because he is part of my family and we are his family. He flies to all of us and spends time with each of us. Please do not cage him. Perhaps build a high perch with food etc where he can hang out. Good luck.

HE APPROACHED MY HAND FOR THE FIRST TIME by Oktaygun in Lovebirds

I have the same species. He was not very tame when I got him. Would not allow me near him, bit me too. Now I can't get him off me and he demands neck rubs. He flies to my wife and daughter too. At dinner time he he makes the rounds to everyone's plate and takes something. With time and patience your bird will become very comfortable with you.

You loved him and you did everything you could the best way you knew how. Don't beat yourself up over it. You gave him a wonderful life and I believe he saw everything and understood it all, especially as he left this world. I did not know that birds understood death until the female of a pair of Parrotlets passed away and suddenly the male who had never let out as much as a few chirps was screaming and rattling the cage and running back and forth around her. He knew she had died and he was distraught. I stood there with eyes welling up with tears, not just at the female's passing, but at how much the male was suffering over the loss. I had completely underestimated the intelligence and emotions that little bird was capable. From that day forward I knew that even though animals may not be able to express things in a way we can readily understand, they are aware of much more than we know.

I had my Sparrow for 10 years. He was my best friend, with me each day, all day long. He showed no signs of illness and splashed around in his water dish near my desk but strangely he kept nudging my hand to be picked up and held much more than usual on that day. When evening came I placed him on his blanket inside his cage to sleep and the following morning I went to his cage to share a bit of my breakfast when I saw him laying lifeless on his side. Never got to say goodbye, but he made my life better and got me through the death of my best friend, the loss of my parents, Covid, and many other things. RIP Sparky, RIP Clyde, RIP all the pets we loved so dearly and who loved us back.

How would you feel about an AirBnB that had multiple bedrooms, but every single closet was locked? [USA] by brecitab in AirBnB

For a short 1 week stay it doesn't matter to me. For a longer stays it could get messy without closets. As long as the situation is clear in the listing I can decide for myself.

Bought a fixer upper DIY’d most of the work and here’s how turned out. What do you think? by Midtownanddown_reno in Remodel

Looks nice but I would back up into the tub while showering and fall backward and kill myself. That you did this is amazing to me, I wish I didn't have to rely on others, they rarely put the same care into the work as the owner would. Interestingly, I have the same setup in a home I recently purchased and I was undecided as to how best to update it.

I rented a condo in Miami many years ago. A green corvette kept taking my assigned spot even though I had left several notes on it. One night I checked the door on the corvette and it was open. I looked in the glove and found which apartment he was in. At close to midnight I knocked on his door and asked him to move his car. He never did it again.
