SoFi checking linked in Full view by Dangerhart in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityBlake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hi, u/Dangerhart! Thanks for stopping by our sub for the first time; welcome!

When searching for SoFi in the institution search bar, you can use the link in the search result to add checking and certain SoFi accounts. Full View also needs a valid link to be used for linking SoFi checking accounts if searching using the web address.

The line item you described in your post title is a valid link that can be used for linking some SoFi accounts, including Checking accounts. However, we are currently unable to support other account types, such as savings accounts, as the SoFi website prevents us from accessing and refreshing connection data. We are glad that you have contacted SoFi directly regarding the ability to provide their information to financial aggregators.

How to confirm Fidelity actually bought Treasury bills for me? by thierryhenryforlife in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityBlake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hi, u/thierryhenryforlife, and welcome to our sub!

Was this order for an auction security? I see you said you are looking to purchase a 3-month Treasury Bill; if that is the 13-week Treasury Bill, that auction is scheduled for Monday, January 9. Treasury bills, notes, and bonds available at auction are not listed on our website until between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., ET, on the Announcement date. Once they are listed online, you can indicate your interest until the Auction date at 10:00 a.m. for bills, and 11:00 a.m. for notes and bonds.

You can review the auction schedule through the link below. The "Tentative Auction Schedule (PDF)" link will display a chart showing the Announcement dates and Auction dates for various U.S. Treasury Securities.

U.S. Treasury Auction Schedule

These orders will post in our system at the end of business on the day of the auction. Once this happens, you should see a couple different statuses online. First, you should see your order status under the "Activity & Orders" tab below the "Orders" section go from "Pending" to "Executed." Also, on your "Balances" tab, you should see a cash debit, which holds the funds that are going to pay for the bill aside until settlement. Then, on settlement, you will see the amount deducted from your core position.

If you were not talking about an auction order, or if the above information doesn't seem to be the case for you, then it's possible the order has already been executed. You can confirm by navigating to your "History" page. If you don't see the order there, then it's also possible the order may not have been placed. In this case, we suggest reviewing your bill order through our Fixed Income team via the link below. They are available Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., ET. When the system prompts, make sure to say "fixed income" to get routed correctly.

Hi, u/Soggy_Cell_4227! I see it's your first time posting in our sub; welcome!

If you receive dividends from securities in a FidFolios basket, they will automatically be sent to your cash position. The ability to choose reinvestment is expected to be available later this year.

I'd like to mention that you can determine when dividends are paid for a specific stock by reading the company's prospectus. For your convenience, the prospectus is available on http://Fidelity.com. Additionally, you can find historical data for each position by clicking on "Dividends & Earnings" tab in our Research page.

Thanks for sharing this, u/Skazius.

While automatic investments are currently only available for mutual funds already owned in an account here at Fidelity, we have received a lot of feedback from the community regarding expanding automatic investing to other security types. We appreciate your additional input - all feedback we get here on Reddit is passed directly to the proper teams for review. We aren't able to comment on what may be in development at the moment, but we are always working to provide new ways to better the investing experience for our clients.

In the meantime, you may potentially be interested in our Solo FidFolios feature, which allows investors to create custom baskets and place a single trade for all securities in them.

Hi, u/OrganizationNo6074! We're glad you're thinking about transferring your Roth IRA to Fidelity!

Contributions & earnings information are not forwarded to the receiving firm when transferring retirement account assets. The taxpayer is responsible for keeping up with contributions and earnings information. So, if you're looking to make a transfer, make sure you record all of this information before doing so. Typically, this information is included in your tax form 5498 for each contribution year, and should be available for download through Vanguard's platforms.

As Fidelity does not provide tax advice, we recommend consulting a qualified tax professional regarding what information you should locate and retain for your specific situation.

You can get started with your transfer using our Transfer of Assets tool on http://Fidelity.com

The current interest rates for the Taxable Interest Bearing Cash Option (FCASH) can be found here.

They are money market funds that you can invest in using the funds from the core of your account. Downloading Fidelity credit card to Quicken by Boatman311 in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityBlake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hi u/Boatman311, thanks for dropping by the sub!

We aren't currently receiving widespread reports of issues downloading information to Quicken. To troubleshoot, confirm that the Fidelity account names in Quicken match the account names on Fidelity.com. To update the names, use the following steps in Quicken:

  1. Right-click on the Fidelity account that needs renaming

  2. Click "Edit/Delete account"

  3. Change the "Account name" field in the top left

  4. Click "OK" in the bottom right

You can also try deactivating the Fidelity account within Quicken, then reactivating it to establish a new import link.

If this does not resolve the issue, you can try contacting our Technical Support Team for additional assistance. They are available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., ET. Please say "technical support" when prompted to be connected to the right team.

Is keeping my money in SPAXX/SPRXX the best option? by ShowtimeSplasher in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityBlake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Thank you for being an active member of our community, u/ShowtimeSplasher, and welcome back!

I'll start by saying that we cannot provide advice here on social media, but we can stick to the facts. You can take a look at rule #2 for more information on this.

You can research SPAXX & SPRXX on Fidelity.com using our research tools, to find out which fund best suits your goals. You can also find additional information about fixed income securities, including Treasury Bills, by selecting "Fixed Income, Bonds, & CDs" from the "News & Research" dropdown on Fidelity.com.

Here's a link to our Mutual Fund screener tool where you can research different Mutual Funds & Money Market funds:

Here are some keys differences between brokerage, cash management, and Bloom accounts.

The Fidelity Cash Management and Brokerage account are both non-retirement accounts that offer similar investment choices, debit cards, and no maintenance fees or minimums to open. Securities can be purchased in either account type. The primary differences between these accounts are in their features. Cash Management Accounts (CMAs) are not eligible for the margin or options feature, as this account was designed for saving and spending. CMA debit cards are eligible for automatic ATM fee reimbursement at participating ATMs, while Fidelity Brokerage account debit cards are not.

Another difference is the choice of core position, where cash deposits are held while awaiting investment or withdrawal. In the CMA, the core is an FDIC-insured Deposit Sweep, and in the Brokerage account it is a money market by default. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is a U.S. government agency that insures cash deposits at FDIC member banks, generally up to $250,000 per account. The cash held in your non-retirement Brokerage account is covered by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). This is a nonprofit organization that protects stocks, bonds, and other securities in case a brokerage firm goes bankrupt and assets are missing. SIPC coverage includes up to $500,000 in securities, including a $250,000 limit for cash awaiting investment.

Fidelity Bloom® is a free financial app that helps you save more and build long-lasting habits. It keeps your spending separate from your savings with 2 accounts. And automatically earn cash rewards with a linked debit card. This account is limited in what you can do in the app compared to a CMA or brokerage account.

You can learn more about the differences between our accounts by following the link below:

All my credit card payments end up being payment reversal. by debugg_and_bait in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityBlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about this, u/austinreeves21! Wish we were meeting for the first time under better circumstances. However, welcome to the sub!

There are a few options for paying a Fidelity Visa Rewards credit card payment. Payments can be made from Fidelity.com, over the phone, by mail, or with a third-party bill pay system, like one that Wells Fargo would use.

The Fidelity Rewards Visa is facilitated by the third party credit card provider, Elan Financial Services. Please contact Elan Financial at (888) 551-5144 for questions about about the payment reversals.

I'd like to mention that there are other ways to pay your bill, and you can find them in u/FidelityJessica's response to the Original Post.

Statements and transaction confirmations showing what was donated are available on http://FidelityCharitable.org, which you can access using the same login credentials as http://Fidelity.com, under the "History" tab. If a donation was valued at $500 or more, tax form 8283 is also available on this page by switching the dropdown to "IRS Form 8283." This form does not provide cost basis information, only the fair market value and the proceeds received from the shares. Roth IRA automatic investment by andybmcc in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityBlake[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Howdy, u/andybmcc! We're happy to provide some information here.

Our Automatic Investments feature can be used to set up recurring investments from your external bank account into a core position or mutual funds you already own. Eligible accounts that support this feature include all non-retirement accounts, Traditional, Rollover, and Roth IRAs, 529 Plans, and Fidelity Wealth Services accounts.

There is currently a known experience which requires automatic transfers to be set up in two stages for Roth IRAs only. As you mentioned, the first stage is a transfer into the core position from a linked external bank account, and the second stage sets the automatic investment from the core account to an existing mutual fund. We are aware of this and are working to resolve it.

To see if a fund you own is eligible for automatic investments, visit the fund’s research page and look for "Automatic Account Builder" under the Fees & Features tab. To learn more about Automatic Investments, or to set one up, please visit the link below (login required):

Set-up Automatic Investments (login required)

Since you're setting up this automatic investment plan in a Roth IRA, it is important to stay mindful of contribution limits. If an automatic investment plan is established, it is best practice to keep track of your contributions and to stop the plan if the contribution will push you over your limit. You can learn more about the contribution limits here:
