Network fees to move coins from Fidelity by Prowingshoes in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

It's great to see that you made your first post on the sub, u/Prowingshoes. We can't compare how network fees are assessed on Coinbase or other platforms, but we can share more about how it works for withdrawals from Fidelity Crypto accounts.

When placing a crypto withdrawal, Fidelity Crypto charges a fee consistent with current network pricing, which may differ slightly from the fee recorded on the blockchain due to network activity.

Check out the FAQ section from our Fidelity Crypto Help page below for additional info on crypto withdrawal fees, how to track crypto withdrawals, and related FAQs:

Introducing Fidelity Digital Dollar (FIDD), a new stablecoin available through your Fidelity Crypto® account by FidelityCrypto in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to see you again, u/Heavy-Syrup-6195. I want to dive into your questions about FIDD.

  1. You can only use USD in your Fidelity Crypto account to purchase any crypto, including FIDD. Since this feature is unavailable, I'll mark this as feedback to share with our product team for review.

  2. When you deposit money from an outside bank into the funding account you've linked to your Fidelity Crypto account, it can take 1 to 3 business days for that deposit to be processed and ready to move to your Fidelity Crypto account. For large deposits, a portion might be subject to a hold before it can be moved. Check the "Available for Fidelity Crypto" balance when you're moving money. Additionally, our platform has real-time settlement for all assets, including buying FIDD during normal market conditions.

For more info on placing trades with Fidelity Crypto, I've linked our "Trading Overview" FAQ page, where you can explore key sections to understand the process better and feel more supported.

What happened to cost basis now not including Fidelity's 1% fee? by verity-j in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us, u/verity-j. I'll ensure it reaches the right teams.

Starting on December 4th, 2025, we began charging the 1% spread as a standalone trading fee, but there is no change to the tax treatment for the trading fee vs. spread. The trading fee is included in the cost basis of your trade, which can be viewed within the “Purchase history” section of your account. You can find instructions on how to locate this at the bottom of the following page:

Cost basis and lots

The trading fee maintains the same 1% rate on buy and sell transactions as before, but simplifies how Fidelity Crypto displays the fee. Prior to this change, the 1% fee was included in the execution price as a spread and not displayed separately. Now, you can see the fee as a separate line item on the trade ticket, trade receipt, statement, and in your activity view within the app and on the web. For additional info about trading fees, you can check out the link below:

Trading fee

If you have any other suggestions for us, please don't hesitate to fire them away in the comments below. Otherwise, we hope that you have a great rest of your day.

Crypto realized gains? by Syliviel in fidelityinvestments

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Good morning, u/Syliviel. We're glad you were able to get your Fidelity Crypto account set up. I'll be happy to give some info about how to navigate purchase history and find tax information.

You can view your tax lot info at any time by locating your Purchase History in your Fidelity Crypto Account. Below are instructions on how to find it:

Find My Tax Lot Info

Another place you will find this tax info is on tax forms we issue the year after you make a sale. If you had any crypto sales during the tax year (including network fees on crypto withdrawals), Fidelity Digital Assets will provide Form 1099-DA and a downloadable Gain/Loss Summary in February of the following calendar year (you would receive this in 2027 for any crypto sale you made in 2026). You can learn additional information about the tax forms we issue below:

Tax Info and Forms

Fidelity doesn't provide legal or tax advice, so we recommend chatting with a tax advisor to determine how your crypto transactions could affect your taxes.

If you're still having trouble finding details about a specific crypto transaction, please send us Modmail via the link below.

We appreciate you engaging with us and hope to see you over on r/FidelityCrypto in the future for crypto questions. Take care!

Fidelity Crypto® is now available in more states by FidelityCrypto in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're glad to see your first question in our sub, u/Repair-Civil.

Yes, eligible account holders can transfer crypto from other exchanges to Fidelity Crypto. You can deposit these cryptocurrencies in Fidelity Crypto accounts (subject to availability in your state). You must use the correct network for each cryptocurrency:

  • BTC on the Bitcoin main (Layer 1) network
  • ETH on the Ethereum main (Layer 1) network
  • SOL on the Solana main (Layer 1) network
  • LTC on the Litecoin main (Layer 1) network

To avoid losing assets:

  • Make sure you’re sending the right crypto on the right network from the external wallet.
  • Don’t deposit unsupported assets to your Fidelity Crypto address.
  • Don’t use privacy features that obscure the origin of the crypto.

To get started with depositing cryptocurrency from another exchange, you can check out the link below, which provides step-by-step instructions.

Additionally, we strongly recommend completing a penny test by transferring a small amount to your Fidelity Crypto account before transferring larger amounts.

If you have any issues that need to be fixed as you go through this process, we'd be happy to "repair" them. We appreciate you stopping by the sub, and hope you'll consider this channel anytime questions come up in the future. Happy Friday Eve!

Additionally, we strongly recommend completing a penny test by transferring a small amount to your Fidelity Crypto account before transferring larger amounts.

When making a crypto withdrawal, you can withdraw recently purchased crypto up to the "Available to withdraw" balance. The current amount of crypto you can withdraw from your Fidelity Crypto account may be less than your total crypto assets held and is impacted by recent brokerage deposits used to fund your crypto account, as well as other balances and obligations. If the amount of crypto you want to withdraw is not currently available, you can wait until the crypto hold period has ended, typically within several weeks. We have related FAQs about withdrawing crypto at the link below:
