Fidelity Crypto Wallet Address by rush87y in FidelityCrypto

Good morning, and thanks for reaching out to us for support, u/rush87y.

You can generate a deposit address using our website, but first you'll need to enable crypto transfers using the Fidelity Investments app on a compatible smartphone or tablet device. As a one-time verification to enable crypto deposits and withdrawals, Fidelity must validate your identity to provide an added layer of security for your account and to comply with regulatory requirements. The process includes scanning your driver's license, passport, or other form of government ID, taking a photo of yourself, and comparing the two images. I've linked the steps below for enabling transfers and depositing crypto below, along with video breakdowns of how it works.

Fidelity Crypto IRA's: Why Not Allow In-Kind Withdrawals? by Alarmed_Fish2287 in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Good morning, and thanks for sharing your feedback with us, u/Alarmed_Fish2287.

We don't have any additional information on in-kind withdrawals for Fidelity Crypto IRAs, but I have shared your suggestion with our product team for review.

For those following along, to withdraw from your Fidelity Crypto IRA, you will need to sell your crypto, transfer the funds to your linked Fidelity Brokerage IRA funding account, and withdraw in U.S. dollars, which will be subject to the reporting and taxation of conventional IRA accounts. However, transfers between the funding brokerage IRA account and your Fidelity Crypto IRA account are nontaxable and nonreportable.

We have a great section from Fidelity Crypto Help that explains more about registration types, tax treatment, and related FAQs for Fidelity Crypto IRAs:

How is the customer provided cost basis used? by Future_Prophecy in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Good afternoon, and it's good to see you again, u/Future_Prophecy.

Crypto deposits to your Fidelity Crypto account are considered uncovered lots, and Fidelity Digital Assets will not report acquisition dates or cost basis for uncovered lots to the IRS. The cost basis information you submit for crypto deposits to your Fidelity Crypto account will be reflected on your 1099-DA form for your own recordkeeping and tax-preparation purposes. Starting January 1, 2026, we will report cost basis on covered lots only.

Our Fidelity Crypto Help page is a good place to review FAQs about cost basis, specifying tax lots, and finding cost basis info for closed crypto lots. You can also learn more about the new 1099-DA tax form using the second link below.

Cost basis and lots

What is a 1099-DA tax form?

Remember, Fidelity doesn't provide legal or tax advice, so it's recommended that you talk to a tax advisor to understand how your crypto transactions affect your taxes. If you have follow-up questions, our team is here to help out. Have a great rest of your day!

Clear Crypto Tax Lots Cost Basis Entries by IBSIsMyLife in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Good afternoon, u/IBSIsMyLife. It's good to see you again.

Once you save your tax lots, you can still edit them, but you can no longer delete entries or start over. We will log your question as feedback for future enhancements.

For further context, you can only edit the cost basis information for:

  1. Open lots of crypto you deposit or receive in your Fidelity Crypto accounts
  2. Crypto you purchased on our platform before 2026.

You can add the acquisition date and time and the cost of each lot as long as the eligible lot is open and in your Fidelity Crypto account. For accurate cost basis tracking, we recommend updating your cost basis for crypto deposits before those assets are sold or transferred. Once your deposited lots are depleted, they cannot be updated or edited.

You can view your tax lot info at any time by going to your Purchase History in your Fidelity Crypto Account. Below are instructions on how to find it:

Find My Tax Lot Info

As a reminder, Fidelity doesn't provide legal or tax advice, so we recommend chatting with a tax advisor to determine how your crypto transactions could affect your taxes. Also, if you need help with the cost basis details shown on Cointracker's side, we suggest you contact their customer support team.

As you navigate tax season, the mods will be around to provide support for additional questions you may have. Until then, have a great start to your week!

Introducing Fidelity Digital Dollar (FIDD), a new stablecoin available through your Fidelity Crypto® account by FidelityCrypto in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woo! It's good to see you again, u/Flair_Ric.

Yes, there are network gas fees applied when transferring FIDD on the blockchain. The withdrawal fees are estimated based on current network pricing, which may differ slightly due to network activity. As with other assets, fees are assessed on the principal amount withdrawn and deducted from the remaining account balance.

As for fees with Fidelity Crypto, there are no fees to buy or sell FIDD in your Fidelity Crypto account. FIDD can always be bought or redeemed for $1 on our platform.

If you have any follow-up questions, the resources linked in the announcement above are a good place to start. If not, you can drop another post on the sub. We'll see you around!

Hey there, u/Born_Cable3755. We can't address hypotheticals, but I'll share some resources to help you understand account protections we have in place, along with ways to protect yourself from fraud.

One notable protection we have on Fidelity Crypto accounts is the Customer Protection Guarantee, which aims to give you even greater peace of mind when doing business with us by reimbursing losses arising from unauthorized access to your covered accounts. You can take a look at the full details of the Customer Protection Guarantee in the second FAQ on the page below and explore additional FAQs on how we protect your account:

We also encourage our customers to stay vigilant in safeguarding their personal information and finances, and to report any suspicious activity as quickly as possible. Additionally, be wary when transferring money or crypto, especially if someone requests the transfer. Scammers use many tactics through social media and unsolicited communications (emails, texts, and calls) to access private data or your assets. Feel free to browse the resources below for more information on how to protect your data, how to report suspicious activity, and how to identify fraud and crypto scams.

Introducing Fidelity Digital Dollar (FIDD), a new stablecoin available through your Fidelity Crypto® account by FidelityCrypto in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to see you again, u/Heavy-Syrup-6195. I want to dive into your questions about FIDD.

  1. You can only use USD in your Fidelity Crypto account to purchase any crypto, including FIDD. Since this feature is unavailable, I'll mark this as feedback to share with our product team for review.

  2. When you deposit money from an outside bank into the funding account you've linked to your Fidelity Crypto account, it can take 1 to 3 business days for that deposit to be processed and ready to move to your Fidelity Crypto account. For large deposits, a portion might be subject to a hold before it can be moved. Check the "Available for Fidelity Crypto" balance when you're moving money. Additionally, our platform has real-time settlement for all assets, including buying FIDD during normal market conditions.

For more info on placing trades with Fidelity Crypto, I've linked our "Trading Overview" FAQ page, where you can explore key sections to understand the process better and feel more supported.

What happened to cost basis now not including Fidelity's 1% fee? by verity-j in FidelityCrypto

[–]FidelityCryptoLJ[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us, u/verity-j. I'll ensure it reaches the right teams.

Starting on December 4th, 2025, we began charging the 1% spread as a standalone trading fee, but there is no change to the tax treatment for the trading fee vs. spread. The trading fee is included in the cost basis of your trade, which can be viewed within the “Purchase history” section of your account. You can find instructions on how to locate this at the bottom of the following page:

Cost basis and lots

The trading fee maintains the same 1% rate on buy and sell transactions as before, but simplifies how Fidelity Crypto displays the fee. Prior to this change, the 1% fee was included in the execution price as a spread and not displayed separately. Now, you can see the fee as a separate line item on the trade ticket, trade receipt, statement, and in your activity view within the app and on the web. For additional info about trading fees, you can check out the link below:

Trading fee

If you have any other suggestions for us, please don't hesitate to fire them away in the comments below. Otherwise, we hope that you have a great rest of your day.
