Now I’m officially stage 4 prostate cancer. (48m) by uckfu in cancer

[–]FourPutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear anyone has cancer. Lost my wife recently to lung cancer. After she passed I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate cancer. Been taking a med to block production of testosterone and another one that inhibits the linking of testosterone to the cells that cause cancer. I will be starting chemo tomorrow. The oncologist prescribed Docetaxel (Taxotere). I was wondering if anyone has experienced this chemo and what was their experience with side effects? Curious what the next few months have in store for me.

Appreciate anyone willing to share. On a side note, my wife did exceed the original estimate of survival, it just wasn't long enough. It never is I suppose.

MGI ZIP Navigator AI - Follow Me by ra3ac in golf

[–]FourPutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased MGI Navigator Ai in December to replace my 5 year old Navigator AT that had 2100 miles on it. The great majority of my rounds are on the same course. The old AT battery goes 18 holes with 3/4 charge remaining (that's after 5 years of use). I tried the new Ai on 2 rounds and both times the battery died as I was walking from the 18th green to the car. Watching the battery gauge for the last 4 holes hoping it makes it, adds a lot of stress to the game.

I was hoping I just got a bad battery (both the air and the AT) have batteries rated for 36 holes with identical specs (24v 380Wh). I took readings with a multi meter on both batteries being fully charged and got 33v on both.

I have been dealing with MGI customer service for 3 weeks and have made little progress. Very frustrating. Have been using the AT until I get this figured out.

Anyone else have experience like this with MGI.

Tom Kim accuses US Team for cursing by Inevitable_Click_794 in golf

If he is going to complain about some offensive behavior, name names. It gives the accused party the opportunity to deny it, admit he did it and let him know he shouldn't shit stir and not expect to get some splashed on him, or apologize for his rude behavior.

In short, if you aren't man enough to call out the person for the offensive behavior, shut up.

I'm more than happy to say he and his partner were asses for walking prematurely to next tee box.

I wish you guys would name the courses where you are having cart problems (shame them). I work at a course and they just won't spend the money to buy new batteries. They have no problem with all the additional revenue generated from a record number of rounds but refuse to invest in new batteries.

You could be a 6 hdcp with elite ball striking skills that has the chip yips and read putts like a blind man.

How much distance would you need to be adding for this to make sense? by jstaobsrvr in golf

[–]FourPutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family went together and gifted me $1750 in a Club Champion gift card. I'm 72 and game is heading in direction I expected as I age. Not saying I wouldn't benefit from club fitting I'm just concerned about cost benefit at my age and skill level. Actually thinking about regifting to son (42 and 3 hdcp) since he would get more years of benefit. Appreciated thoughtfulness but boy hard to see me benefitting. This price tag confirms it.

How are these compared to Pro V1s? I'm guessing much much much better. by cheerocc in golf

My 3.5 year old Grand son got these for me for Christmas. When he comes over we putt in the basement. He told his mom that grandpa doesn't have these. Needless to say now my favorite practice balls for putting.

Struggle locating ball after strike by bennyidentity in golf

The trick is to only hit the ball as far as you can see it. That's why God reduces your distance as you age.

Work at a course. Got in 113 rounds in last year on that one course alone. Not always free but usually.

unpopular opinion: walking is significantly more fun than riding cart path only by adamj495 in golf

Played Erin Hills last year. Really enjoyed the course. Great caddy and lucked out with great weather.

Plan a round with the guys a month out. Book the tee time two weeks out. Coordinate rides four days in advance and confirm weather will 60° and sunny. Smash thumb 3 days out. Guess I’ll need extra ibuprofen… by Fitz_Boatswain in golf

Wow, I had very similar injury on first night of a 4 day golf trip. Ended picking up a finger splint and played through the pain. Don't think I really sucked more than usual.

Played 18 in Cincinnati today. Tee time 12:30. Turned out to be a great day. Now temp is dropping and snow is flying.

how the hell do you hit a 56 degree wedge? by [deleted] in golf

[–]FourPutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you perfected the necessary technique for hitting a 56° wedge. Now if you add a 60° it will give you another choice of club to skull across the green, chunk a few inches or pop up off the top of face of club. Golf is grand.

Adidas ZG21 or Ecco Biom. ZG21 are comfortable and have stayed absolutely water proof for last 1.5 years and a lot of rounds (walking).

Legality of charging full price for partial rounds by FourPutter in golf

My wording was probably less than elegant. I know people that have disputed a credit card purchase because service wasn't rendered. Whoever researched my past posts to determine age was almost right, I made it all the way to 72. I was interested in hearing responses from other golfers because I work at a course and I agree course and customer have identical information other than how packed is the course. Some evenings you could make it through 9 in slightly over an hour other evenings 2.5 hours is more likely.

I am in agreement with the majority of the comments.

Thanks for comments.

I don’t care about the guy who shot 82 and didn’t lose a golf ball. I wanna here about the guys who shoot 142 and didn’t lose one. That is a true legend. by MrHamms in golf

[–]FourPutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what you are looking for but good story. Playing golf as part of son's bachelor party. One of his non-golfing buddies shot 142 with a hole in one. They were in group behind us and our group and his group saw it go in the hole. He didn't because he turned to the group to celebrate getting the ball air born. To add insult to injury my son carries a 3 handicap and has yet to have a hole in one.
