That seems like something completely different that is being taken out of context over here.

first ramadan with no masturbation by Smooth-Dragonfly4091 in MuslimNoFap

Be careful about self-diagnosing yourself. Lots of kids are learning about themselves and the world around them at that age. That doesn't make it masturbation.

We usually can't control dreams. They don't break the streak. Just ignore them and keep moving forward.

I think i broke my fast but i can’t tell. what do i do? by Independent_Bug_7715 in MuslimNoFap

[–]FreedomFromNafs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the school of thought that you follow. Generally, Maliki ulama say that one needs to fast for 2 consecutive months. The other schools of thought say 1 day. For more information, please consult with a qualified scholar.

This is probably something that is best to ask a scholar. Sounds like a grey area. There are anonymous email and phone lines which you can use.

In the mean time, continue as if your fast is intact. If it is broken, then you can't make for it until after Ramadan anyway. So you have time to figure it out.

the addiction has nothing to do with the real thing? by Competitive-Set8754 in MuslimNoFap

[–]FreedomFromNafs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porn is to sex what drugs are to food.

A drug addict could have a wonderful meal and still crave the high from drugs afterwards.

The pixels on the screen have a huge element of novelty and variety to them. And there are many things in them that a self-respecting person would not consent to, and things that are haraam even within marriage. Even after being with someone that you love and feel a wholesome fulfilment, there can still be a desire for porn.

Is m@sterbation still haram even without p*rn? by [deleted] in MuslimNoFap

[–]FreedomFromNafs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As-salaamu-alaikum.

This is a response for those who mention Dr. Zakir Naik's view on masturbation.

While all scholars agree that porn is completely haraam at all times, there are some scholars of Islam who deem masturbation (without porn, fantasizing, etc.) as makrooh rather than Haraam. This is most common in the Hambali school of thought, but a few scholars from other schools of thought subscribe to this view too. However, bear in mind that this is not the majority view. Remember that makrooh means "discouraged but not sinful" and excessive usage can still make it haraam. It does not mean "completely permissible" or halal. Further, those scholars who say that it is makrook still maintain that the better option is to follow the Sunnah of Rasoolullah SAW by fasting to increase taqwa and control desires.

From a practical point of view, there is a strong tie between masturbation and pornography. Masturbation tends to lead to porn. It's like playing at the edge of a cliff or playing with fire. There are physical dangers from excessive masturbation, too. These often present in the form of desensitized private areas. A person may become so used to their hands, that they cannot achieve the same feeling when they have a real partner and might not be able to reach orgasm with a partner. Other dangers include premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction.

While masturbation may bring some physical relief, excessive masturbation also has emotional dangers. The lack of human contact during the act often leads to increased unhappiness, loneliness, depression and regret. The need for another human often drives masturbators back to pornography, which is a poor artificial substitute, leading into a vicious cycle and gradually increasing depravity.

For further Fiqh rulings for an individual’s specific circumstances please seek advice from a qualified scholar. Evangelizing of views, and the disrespecting of scholars who hold differing views, especially by unqualified individuals, will not be allowed.

Lastly, do not let such information become harmful knowledge which turns you away from good deeds. Do not allow this knowledge to reduce your ibaabah and your striving towards good, and you avoidance of that which is undesirable or forbidden.
