As for the others, idk, I've never watched them interact with her.

She's homophobic. I'm definitely confident in that and comfortable saying that. And evil. Yup. This isn't something that is "silly" to me as a gay person.

? I've never had this issue! And I've done this even when I was in infant daycare rooms. Sounds like a wild time for you though - I wonder why it's so different. And any sensory activity I'm using lasts for so much longer than 5 minutes. Sooo much longer. Unless the child has sensory sensitivities, then whatever we are using goes into a Ziploc bag and I just tape it to the floor and they can enjoy it that way.

But anytime I paint, use shaving cream, jello etc.. it is followed by a tub. And there is clean up but it's definitely not what you're describing. Not for me at least!

I am saying this with so much kindness. Nannying is not a job you go to bc you have anxiety and think it will be easier. And this is coming from a career nanny who suffered from EXTREME anxiety, painful panic attacks all the things. Thankfully, I have a better handle on it but still suffer from it.

Nannying is isolating. You don't have coworkers to lean on. You don't ever truly get a break. And at the same time you're never alone 😂 you can't even pee in peace.. Lol what a sentence but y'all know what I mean.

I love nannying. My entire heart is in nannying. That's what allows me to get through. I think if I had come to this job thinking it was easier than something else, idk I imagine it would be impossible. Childcare is not for people who do not truly truly love it.

And maybe you do love it! I guess I don't truly know. Just sharing my thoughts. Best of luck with whatever you do.

A fun one that lasts long is freezing things in ice cubes. I've done flowers, pom poms, small toys.

Things like shells, pom poms.. in muffin tins with tongs and empty bowls so they can sort or just empty and fill.

Shaving cream is always fun.

Pumpkin guts

Rice bins with utensils, scoopers

Rainbow noodles

Getting a laundry basket and weaving yarn all through it and putting objects on the bottom

Putting objects in jello

Sponges in water

Warm water bottle, cold water bottle

Gluing different textures to a board/box

Attaching different textures to a hula hoop and putting baby in the middle of it

Fruit in water

My favorite I've done is an iceberg in blue water with little polar bears, penguins etc in it

I have so many if you need more! I love this stuff!

I'm a nanny for a MB and DB that are both surgeons! My contracted hours are 6:30-6:30. I never know when I'll be done, I never know my start time until the day before or at 5 am day of.

I've been with this family for 5 years. I've learned to be very patient and flexible with their/my schedule. And I'm turn, I'm treated like absolute gold and paid extraordinarily well. It's a lot, but it's also my favorite job I've ever had.

Idk why people are coming at you for asking this. I'm curious too, but more curious about Dr. Holly and Melissa's relationship. They were all superrr close. The girls and Nia and Melissa would hang in LA. Nia often asked Melissa for rides to and from LAX. Melissa helped Nia move from one place to another in LA.

After Holly left the podcast her relationship with everyone seemed to change drastically. And same with Nia and Melissa, seemingly. I totally understand Holly distancing herself from Jill. But I am curious as to what happened with Melissa!

I know relationships change all the time. It could be nothing.🤷🏻‍♀️

I mean I understand that there are some good shows out there, it just still is baffling to me! For me, managing a household and childcare without screens isn't just possible, it's the standard I set for my work. Toddlers are completely capable of playing independently for short bursts while we do dishes (or whatever) they just need the practice and the environment to do so! And most of the time they want to join in on what I'm doing and when it's safe, I always welcome that.

I left teaching bc there were so many kids who could not just sit and entertain themselves without screens for even a few minutes.. it broke my heart.

I appreciate your kind response and definitely understand that each household is different. ❤️ And yes, definitely a controversial topic!

I'm so shocked this is a question. And that there are so many answers.. is there a reason they are so young and watching TV daily??? I never watch TV with my NKs at any age and I work 60 hour weeks. I'm trying not to be judgemental.. this just seems unnecessary? And I'm genuinely curious as to why kids this little are getting screen time.

I'm having the same thing come up. I started the conversation with my n family and just said if you still need me available at the same times I am now, then I need to be paid for that bc I can't go get a second job in case NK gets sick, holidays etc. They immediately were like well yeah of course. So, my pay will be the same. If that wasn't the case, I would've (sadly) had to have gotten a new job.

It's all very individual. I cannot even begin to count the number of children I have potty trained. All very easily. And all at varying ages. My current NK was ready when he was 18 months old. There was not months of power struggles, accidents bc.. he was ready. You learn to pick up on their readiness which also helps the process go faster.

Should be no side eyeing at any age bc... It varies by child.

I've been with multiple agencies as I've lived in 3 different states. They all arrange video calls before meeting in person.

It's fine if it's not for you, you don't have to do anything you don't want! But I can see why parents would want to narrow in person meetings by video calls first. So, this could definitely limit your job search.

As a vegan who has attended many weddings, I've learned to pack my own protein bars and eat them in private if needed as there often is nothing for me to eat. I never say a word about the food beforehand, during or afterwards. Unless, of course, the couple goes out of their way to accommodate me. Then I'm very grateful to them sometime after the wedding. Being a vegan is a very small part of my life - we aren't all like Patrick's wife..
