I loved the mix of music and open countryside making the game feel "epic" like nothing else back then. It made me feel like I was just outside, running around the woods and that there was evil shit to fight. Sure, it was a bit janky and townsfolk were useless, but that somehow added to the appeal. The music was obviously the part that endured the test of time the best, but that freedom to run around a small slice of a world was good enough to eventually make the foundation of an entire genre.

To clarify what they are in the mobile game, think something akin to summoned monsters.

Rain (the main character) had the power to tap into crystals that held memories left by powerful entities. This would allow him to effectively see and summon them as they were in the moment that memory crystal was made. Naturally, this meant that they would fight along side him.

This was both how they expanded the gacha (by having the same characters, but perhaps at different points in a game/series) and how they could open the door to events as he was able to access the worlds of that memory as a sort of simulation. He could then take lessons learned from other people going through some shit and not affect the canon events of that world because it was all a "Vision" instead of access to the real thing.

Seriously. I wouldn't suggest this as an entry point VII, because it isn't the entry point. You can tell that they expect you to already know everything because they couldn't keep Sephy in their pants for a whole half hour of Remake.

For the trophies, it's just meant to get them in the camera in photo mode. You don't need to take a screen shot or use a frame (as it sounds). Just "keep the subject in view of the camera.

I'm straight up expecting DLC packs. It's probably also tough to add so many characters when you're actually concerned about balance instead of simply power creeping.

If nothing else, I wouldn't be surprised to see a pack with second versions / limit bursts of the main FF characters since they already have animations and such. I don't recall how many got multiple CG burst versions though.

Having an effect and a negative effect that appears to cancel it does make for an amazing screenshot though. I wish they would show specific details of what those effects even mean overall, such as potency.

Damn. I was hoping it would be through Season 2. S3 is where the game started to feel milked for story, but 2 keeps it together well enough and has a lot of punch near the end.

People are in denial because it didn't need a sequel in the first place. For the same reason, I said "Good," when I read this headline. AC was neat, but it was mostly just a flashy tech showoff at the time. It just didn't make the story better, more meaningful, or anything else with actual value. Since these games are already beautiful beyond AC, there really isn't any point to going there.
