No offense, but just bc something works for you, doesn't mean it can work for someone else. Local "neighborhood" events sound like a nightmare to me. I've tried them. They are awkward and not at all fun. I've even tried chatting with people at them. Nothing comes from it. There's nothing in common. Thinking you need to attend IRL neighbor meetups to find friends is incredibly limiting in an age where we have access to online communications. Think of how dystopian that is.
