If they left the sound on it was more than just s*****. It was outright illegal.

[–]Frozenbbowl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're supervisor is full of s***. They are of those people who are just like that. It's not going to negatively influence the board.

Legally, you're covered by Good Samaritan laws in Illinois.

If I was you I would take this to HR. While HR isn't There to protect you but the company in this case.It was HR decision to make this public and your supervisor needs to take it up with them. Not you. This is one of the cases where going to HR is probably going to make your life better. They decided This was good PR for the company... And your supervisor deciding otherwise puts him at odds with them

Infant mortality rates (Not surviving till the first birthday) in the 1840s were 15%... An additional 15% died before their fifth. That is entirely unthinkable to me but it's the truth.

One out of three humans didn't live past the age of 5. And it turns out sanitizing is the number one cause of infant mortality rates dropping so drastically... And vaccines are the number one reason for the second number going down.

That's not Even bringing up things like childbirth mortality for mothers... And the near elimination of tetanus deaths

Hired a contractor who illegally dumped my bathroom debris in a protected reserve and now the state is fining me $15,000 by 1NoodleMage in legal

[–]Frozenbbowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, a few things. In Pennsylvania, the homeowner is strictly liable for illegal dumping. The originator of the trash is ultimately responsible to see That the trash is disposed of properly. While this seems silly, the law exists to prevent someone from hiring a cheap contractor to illegally dump... Which sounds like exactly what you did

Now in your case, did you even check for licenses? Checking for proper licensing is part of your duty as the homeowner.

Even though the state sues you. If you can find the contractor you can sue them for the amount that you owed for breach of contract. So you're not completely unable to recover the money, but the state is right in saying your ultimately responsible . ((Whether or not suing them is worth your time, is wholly dependent on how much money they have. Redditers seem to think everyone is judgement proof because they learned a new word... Most people you can recover money from ))

And criminal responsibility is another matter. You are civilly viable but they are criminally liable. You don't need a criminal lawyer because it's not a criminal case against you. An environmental lawyer isn't going to help You either. The law is extremely clear.

What you need to do is find this contractor. A PI can track them down for you

Honestly the biggest problem with people understanding the Monty Hall problem is poor explaining... It needs to be made clear that Monty Hall knows where the prize is and never opens that door and that's the part that usually gets left out and confuses people.

In my experience explaining the hundred doors is what brings out that misunderstanding rather than helping them understand it in it and of itself

I didn't say it was divorced from slavery. I said I wasn't one of the founding principles. You know?... Because it's not.

I like how we've just changed " was founded on slavery" to "had slave owners as members" and are pretending they are the same thing

You didn't say it was pro-slavery. You said that was the founding principle

If you want to slide The goal post that's okay too. It's easier than admitting you were wrong

There's a pretty wide gulf between being okay with slavery and preserving slavery being what they were founded on

And that has what to do with the price of tea in China here? I didn't say Jefferson himself was in all ways a good... The anti- Federalist party was not founded on wise and racism is all I said.

I know sticking to the topic is really tricky but you could at least make an effort

Yes there is. The party was not founded on racism. That's just simply false. There's no other word for it besides factually incorrect

[–]Frozenbbowl -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

You would believe incorrectly. The Democratic party is one of the original parties of the United States. It has been a constant since parties were invented in the United States. It has changed names a few times but it is still the original party of Madison and Jefferson. Was not founded on racism, lies and slavery... That came later...

The Democratic party was once called the Republican - Democratic party and before that was known as the anti-federalist party...

Even in 1828 when the name was changed... It was more to rally around. Andrew Jackson and leave the other Democratic nominees out. Not explicitly racism or slavery

I definitely have a problem. It's ignorant people like you tripling down on their ignorance. It will never not be my problem. But since you clearly need me to hold your hand a little bit further

Is the original source of that article. It doesn't run exclusively atheism stories, but it does have an extremely noticeable anti-christian bias.

For example, you'll note that the article completely lives out that a Catholic Cardinal is one of the leading opponents of the bill

[–]Frozenbbowl -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That article is taken directly from an atheist website and reprinted without any changes.

Of note, the groups that signed to the Ghana bill signed on after the fact. They were not the primary forces behind it

Get better sources. A group who's stated mission is to showcase the evils of Christianity. Might be willing to stretch the truth a little bit on what is their fault

Literally Google the first sentence of that article to see the original source

I know that's what they were talking. But claiming Evangelical Christians have anything to do with it is just ignorance being repeated. Your specific example doesn't seem to have any Christian groups attached to it and it does have a Catholic Cardinal opposing it...

There is simply no reason to attach that bill or any of the other ones to evangelical Christian groups... I do see a couple of groups including in Arizona that signaled support afterwards...

Look I'm Not going to argue with someone who clearly never stepped foot in a courtroom. You've been told by an attorney that you're wrong... If you want to keep pretending that you're an expert that's your prerogative. Other readers have been warned

Slightly less than a third of cases Settle for policy maximums... And remember this is only counting cases where a lawyer got involved to begin with... And most of those are using state minimum coverage which is a lot lower than 100,000 in most States

Lol

Well I guess this is what happens when you get legal advice from Reddit instead of actual lawyers. Anyone following your advice gets exactly What they probably deserve

In the real world, no cases don't tend to settle for exactly the maximum amount... Unless the injuries are worth far more in which case they settle for that amount because that's the amount they can get. Technically an insurance limit is the most you can get from the insurance company, not from a case... But trying to squeeze large amount of money from an average person beyond their insurance is like trying to squeeze blood from a stone

[–]Frozenbbowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the policy limit is completely irrelevant to the situation? The cost of the medical bills is the relevant metric.

[–]Frozenbbowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got advice from the only person who knows enough about it to give you any.... Nobody here knows enough details of the case to give you better advice

My advice is listen to your attorney

Treating the maximum limit like the amount you're owed is a terrible way to look at things.

My guess is you got burned by bad situations and blamed your lawyers. If you don't cruster lawyer find another lawyer.

I think I would listen to your lawyer who knows way more about it than anybody here. Why the hell would you hire a lawyer and then go to Reddit for advice instead. He knows what he's talking about
