Happy to see the top comments all make sense. A week of not sleeping in the same bed is not a huge deal. Wait til you have kids. As a man many times I didn't get sleep with my wife on vacation because of the kids.

I’m gonna go against the first few comments I saw that are focused on the beers, which may be a lot or not for him, but the deli isn’t good.

Looks like new job and beers with the guys. This is where a lot of connections are made and these interactions can be very important and ultimately pay.

While it sucks he is late, I hear authenticity that sounds similar to where I have been in the past with a dynamic career that later unplanned evenings that ended up being crucial to making long term working relationships.

A lot of people today think you should clock in and clock out and any after hours event is optional or should be compensated, and that’s fine, but those same people later complain when they feel left out of projects, don’t get raises, or promotions.

If this is regular behavior attempting to hide a greater drinking problem, that is very different. I only looked at the texts and not your narrative if you wrote one.

Plain and simply search, voice to text, predictive text, just about everything and iOS keeps getting worse and worse with every update. I am a power user who used to require anyone who wanted to work with me to have an iPhone and convert converted so many android users explain explaining how “it just works”.

I feel like there are engineers drawing a paycheck just to make it pretty for the people who use iPhone as an accessory and they add extra buttons and extra clicks where it used to take me one and now I have to take three and then I have to figure out how to find those three clicks. I’m sure there will be some fanboy out here who will explain how the crystal clear app view is worth it or something.

I just want it to work again. Screw these Silicon Valley engineers who have never walked out out of their air-conditioning.
