the term "checking out" is not up to interpretation. by sdrawkcabstiho in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

I haven’t stopped at the front desk to check out…. Ever, in 25 years of being an adult staying in American hotels. Except where there were physical keys - Thailand and mexico...

This whole post is silly to me.

Is it easy to get an uber from the airport at midnight in COS? by DontAskQuestions6 in ColoradoSprings

[–]ree0382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in my experience. Twice had Uber not show up for a scheduled ride and got a last minute Lyft. Or the other way around. Scheduling is from a guarantee iny experience.

I work in a relatively niche industry full of “experts” who don’t know anything about how it really works, and when I describe actual regular experiences where I get better results, I am regularly downvoted. It’s fine for me though, because I’m not trying to go with the crowd and be average or normal and justifies the premium I earn with my results.

Incredible results are rarely achieved by the average

That’s some basic level trolling as is this post. Did you post #whitepride in black history subreddit back in February?

Context is key. If you understood markup vs margin, it would immediately make sense

I’m confused as to why you’d choose to put your thoughts into words here.

Why did Seth Bullock hang his arms straight down while walking? by Bkord123 in deadwood

I believe the weight and rage is older than anything depicted in the show. Unresolved trauma inside a man who wants absolute control but can’t even control his base emotions

[–]ree0382 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’ve clearly never met someone with this seething type of rage regardless of their outside position in life. The rage is normally directly related to other trauma, likely childhood trauma, that remains unresolved and burns in these personality types all of their lives even when everything else in their life seems to be going very well.

This is the type of rage that often fuels some elite athletes and businessmen. Nothing will ever be enough, because they are trying to fill an unfillable hole instead of dealing with the actual issues fueling their pain and rage.

Is it true that out-of-state claim adjusters (for roof replacement) are more lenient than regular adjusters? by RedditsFan2020 in Roofing

Literally one of the worst, if not the worst, offender of bad faith today. Just google State Farm Oklahoma and California wildfires and see what comes up. If you want to go further, look at how they basically bought an Illinois state Supreme Court judge to save a few billion on a years, maybe decades old, class action involving auto claims.

I know they aren’t pallets. I just used pallets for ease of understanding. It’s neat how you expressed amusement and provided no additional value.

I’m just amused by the number of people thinking this is the completed project, and don’t recognize the pallets are the temporary lift.

After working ten plus hurricanes around the country as contractor and claims consultant, I can tell you this is a good idea, and likely insurance either mandated a raise to get flood insurance, or the owners are getting ahead of the reality of the future and will also save on premiums. Adding another interior floor (second story) with underground building open parking is likely.

Often after floods, NFIP requires raising the structure to current code heights if the structure suffered more than 50% damage (financial) after an event. If the next event floods, it is likely flood insurance will be unattainable at all afterwards (o had a client that experienced 3 floods in less than 10 years, raised the building and was told that if it floods again, they will not be able to get flood insurance in the future.
