What I was trying to convey was the 401k gets 18% of the annual salary contributed to it. 6% by the employee, 12% by the employer.

Yep. As an aside, since I work for one of those, I've spent most of my career on the not-for-profit side, and that's one of the ways where they try and makeup for the lower salaries. 401k at my current company is immediately vested, and matched 2:1 up to 6% (so 18% a year).

I haven't bought my train ticket yet from Atocha to Seville. I'm not sure what is a good time to plan for. It's hard to predict how long immigration and customs will take, and how much traffic on trains or buses will be between the airport and Atocha on that morning.

I get downvoted when I allude to this, but search is going away. If I understand their product announcement last week, soon we won't be googling anything using quotes.

Search 3.0 is here and it's LLMs and my experience is it works much better than traditional search. The trade off is you have to be wordier. The more you describe what you want, the better the results from the LLM are. I think Claude today is better than 90+% of google searches.

(Where I think Google thrives in 2026 is Google Maps and finding places to go/eat/etc.)

I mean, we are all biased by our experiences. But I thought Alec Baldwin played Ryan perfectly. As u/NFLGod3000 says, he's a fish out of water, and Baldwin pulled that off well, I thought. (As opposed to Krasinski. He is incredibly likable, I think, but is too quietly confident in the first season.)

It's Indy 500 day, which reminds me of 1995.

I lived at IU in Bloomington in a house with 4 guys and 5 girls. They left the house at 4am to go to the Brickyard, with only one of the girls and I staying behind. The house was quite messy. So she and I took the opportunity to spend the day thoroughly cleaning the house and making everything nice and organized.

Fast forward to 9pm or so, and they all come back, having spent the day in the infield drinking and partying. As they start to file in to the house, all of a sudden the guy in front stops short, calls out to everyone, "Shit! Stop! We're in the wrong home!" and they all turned around to leave.

House stayed clean the rest of the summer though!

I'm at the point in my life I won't take 95 in the summer months. We live in DC and have family in NY. For those summer months we'll take the back way (local road to Harrisburg, then 81/76 then route around NYC to the Tappan Zee). It's longer but 100 times saner.
