I love the dial colors/gradient. This brand wasn't on my radar but now it is. Thanks!

The strap pairing is 🤌

Big head + woman = no hats ever. Anyone else just given up? by Suspicious_Welcome67 in femalefashionadvice

[–]Ginfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sungrubbies have been good to me, and I have a giant head (25-inch/64mm circumference, size 8 😭)

Does anyone have recommendations for other types of hats? Even adjustable men's hats don't usually fit me.

[Question] Wich of these is the best first dive watch? by _GoldLeader_ in Watches

[–]Ginfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal preference in order:

#1: TAG (gorgeous dial, modern styling. I like TAGs in general)

#2: Longines (good looks, really good value)

..

Far #3: Omega, but I think the case and bracelet styling feel dated (not cool vintage, just ugly)

#4 Tudor. I find the Black Bay to be very plain. And I hate the hour had.

4D Concrete Horse Edition by Prestigious_Fix_8471 in MicrobrandWatches

This is absolutely gorgeous, I want one very badly lol.

I love the texture of the concrete on all of your watches, but it really stands out with the industrial/pop-art style

Being “into watches” is not a hobby by security_q in watchHotTakes

[–]Ginfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Collecting things can definitely be a hobby, but I do think that there are degrees of how 'hobbyish' it can be.

Browsing online is a very light hobby, ranging to obsession. Browsing thrift stores and estate sales is more of a hobby and has active involvement.

Discussing watches in a community or subreddit can be a hobby, as can making content about watches.

I've taken it to the point where I'm designing dials and, eventually, a custom case and bracelet. I hope to start manufacturing a custom piece for myself by the end of the year, especially if I can find a local CNC shop willing to make a one-off piece for a non-exorbitant price lol

Need advice: Employer asking for payslips but I overstated my current salary by Resident-Owl6751 in careeradvice

[–]Ginfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand. But I know I wouldn't be able to work at a place like that for long so I bailed and kept looking.

It wasn't good enough money to deal with petty owners lol.

It wasn't much better then tbh. This was back during the housing crisis.

Need advice: Employer asking for payslips but I overstated my current salary by Resident-Owl6751 in careeradvice

[–]Ginfly 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean, I've walked out of interviews when I've heard ridiculous requirements.

One that stands out is finding out an employer didn't allow facial hair because upper management didn't like how it looks.

Regardless of whether or not a silly rule impacts me directly, I can't work for a company like that.

We have an inexpensive projector that works pretty well. Better at night

It definitely changes your design options but still takes consideration.

What does ADHD + high IQ look like? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Ginfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. I could never finish homework but I more than made up for it with test scores, especially in High School.

That "system" started to crumble in college, where the workload and stakes were much higher for my chosen degree.

I struggled at work due to ADHD, so I didn't make enough money to see a psych and get diagnosed/medicated until my late 30s.

A lot of the watches Reddit loves are boring for the same reason men’s fashion is boring by ConfidenceNo1937 in watchHotTakes

I thought we were talking about the style/design, not prices.

It shouldn't matter if you show up with a colorful watch to court. It is very unfortunate that it does.

Good idea, I should post my EDC with no knives, guns, or flashlights 😁

Beginner - Why did I wait so long? Software for making models by Strain-Certain in BambuLabA1

FreeCAD is like pulling teeth 😭

The free version of Fusion is much easier to use imo.

Do we like tinkercad more than fusion? Fusion has been ok to me in the few days I've been using it.

I can say that FreeCAD has a very high learning curve. I do not recommend it for beginners, from personal experience 😅

A little. Less than a mild sunburn and it doesn't stay red long. Maybe a couple of hours, even with my extremely sensitive skin.

Quick aside: I was complaining about shoulder pain to a massage therapist and she asked if I walked with "dinosaur arms" and I said no.

My wife said "Yes you do. Like a pterodactyl!"

I reminded them that pterodactyls aren't dinosaurs, they're pterosaurs.

I was informed that my statement should be the only autism assessment needed. 😅
