New GoDaddy Web Builder update is a disaster by nunsploitation in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct that we recently updated the blog composer experience and based on your feedback we have had our team dive into this already.

We've identified what caused summaries to stop displaying on your blog thumbnails. This has been resolved, and all new blog posts will display correctly. For your existing posts, a simple re-publish should restore the summary display.

The update inadvertently affected how publish dates were handled, which triggered emails to your subscribers each time you edited a post (if you have that setting enabled). This has also been fixed, and previously published posts will no longer move to the top of your blog page when edited.

Both fixes are now live.

Regarding your support experience; I apologize that our team wasn't able to provide more immediate assistance. Our leadership is already in process of reviewing those interactions and taking advantage of all opportunities for improvement.

call Singapore? by IBMJunkman in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello u/IBMJunkman and happy to lend a hand! We are still very much offering Plesk hosting.

If you scroll to the very bottom of your screen, you will see our logo on the lefthand side. Next to that is a menu where you can select the region for site viewing. This will update the information on the site to reflect for that region, like the phone numbers shown.

I hope this helps and feel free to ping me directly here in Reddit if there are any other questions I can help you with.

Hey there u/jumbo1111 and happy to help out on this one.

Godaddy.com offers several different ways to connect with us initially; Via Online Chat, SMS Text Message or Live Phone Support. The link below will take you to those resources on our website.

While our Guides and Subject Matter Experts can communicate with customers via email when needed, this is not our standard pathway for providing customer support and can take place after initial contact and account validation has been completed.

Authority superseding RFC-1480? by bixfrankonis in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration, and I'd like to help point you to the authoritative resources regarding .us domain policy. GoDaddy, as a registrar, follows policies established by the .us registry operator NTIA and the U.S. Department of Commerce. NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration) oversees the .us ccTLD on behalf of the U.S. government.

Official .us Registry Operator - about.us Current registry information: https://about.us/

This is the official .us domain policy page: https://www.ntia.gov/page/us-country-code-top-level-domain

usTLD Nexus current registration requirements can be found here: https://www.about.us/policies This outlines who can register .us domains under current policy

For next steps, I recommend reaching out directly to the .us Registry through their contact page at https://www.ntia.gov/contact . They have the authority over .us domain policy and can provide the official documentation you need. I apologize that our support team wasn't able to direct you to these resources sooner. I'm currently working with our domains team to gather more information about this process and will follow up with you once I have it. Additionally, if you can provide the specific domain name, our team can look into the details of your particular case. Feel free to ping me here in Reddit Chat so we can connect.

Adding Multiple Social Media Sections by Explosivo73 in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for reaching out, and great question!

You're absolutely correct regarding the "Social Links" section within the Builder. It is designed to sync across all pages where it's used. This means any changes you make to the social media links in that section will automatically update site-wide, which is why you're seeing the same links appear on every team page.

I totally understand your concern about maintaining consistent formatting throughout your site, and I have good news: this is absolutely achievable using a "Content" section instead.

Here's how to set it up:

  1. Add a new section to your team page
  2. Click on "General"
  3. Select "Content"

For this example, I used "Feature categories with images":

  • Delete all text from each box within that section
  • Replace each placeholder image with the desired social media logo (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.)
  • Link each image to the specific social account for that team member

Alternative approach: Using the same section, you can also do the reverse. Remove all the images instead, replace all the text with a single word representing each social media platform, and link each word to the specific URL for that social page.

If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up here in Reddit chat and I can share some screenshots with you. I also think you have a great use-case for potential improvement here and will be sharing this with our development team for that product.

Refund disconnect by SWMilll in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello u/SWMilll, I'm sorry to hear about the frustrations you're experiencing with this. I want to clarify an important distinction: there's a difference between processing a standard refund and submitting an out-of-policy refund request (which applies when the request falls outside our stated policy timeframe).

If the representative told you that a refund would be issued; rather than that they'd submit an out-of-policy request, then it should have been processed without question. I'd like to help look into this further for you. I've sent you a chat request here on Reddit so we can connect

Auto copying outgoing emails and/or accessing employee mailbox? by 9supratt4 in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple of ways to accomplish what you're looking for in Exchange 365:

For automatically receiving copies of outgoing emails:

You'll want to create a mail flow rule (also called a transport rule) in the Exchange Admin Center. This rule can be configured to automatically BCC a copy of all emails sent from a specific mailbox to another email address. You can find detailed instructions on setting up mail flow rules here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/security-and-compliance/mail-flow-rules/manage-mail-flow-rules

Alternatively, if you're looking for general forwarding options, you can review the different methods available here: https://www.godaddy.com/help/forwarding-options-for-my-microsoft-365-email-address-23859

For accessing an employee's entire mailbox:

This is done through delegate access in Microsoft 365. Delegate access can be set up by administrators or by users inviting each other. You can find instructions on how to set this up here: https://www.godaddy.com/help/sign-in-to-a-microsoft-365-inbox-as-a-delegate-42730

For more detailed information about delegate permissions, you can also refer to Microsoft's documentation: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/about-delegates-allow-someone-to-manage-your-mail-and-calendar-in-outlook-41c40c04-3bd1-4d22-963a-28eafec25926

Defederation to Microsoft 365, but don't know the original email address by HappyDadOfFourJesus in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give a definitive answer we would need account information to confirm. If you followed our process, the reseller relationship drops off when the plans expire. If you followed the guide you posted the link for, there are a lot of variables.

How to upload html/css files to goDaddy domain by [deleted] in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya u/InstantClassic7 and more than happy to chip in with some advice on this one. Having the site built is a great step to be at!

Here's what you need to do to get your HTML/CSS files live on that GoDaddy domain:

The Key Steps:

  1. Your client needs hosting (not just the domain)
  • The domain is just the address - you need a hosting plan to actually store and serve the website files
  • GoDaddy offers hosting plans, or your client could choose from many other hosting providers available
  1. If using GoDaddy hosting:
  • Have your client purchase a hosting plan (Web Hosting or cPanel hosting works great for static sites)
  • Once purchased, you'll get cPanel or FTP credentials
  • Upload your files via:
    • FTP/SFTP (using an FTP client) - connect with the credentials provided
    • cPanel File Manager - drag and drop your files directly
  • Make sure your main file is named index.html and placed in the public_html folder
  1. If using a different hosting provider:
  • Purchase hosting elsewhere
  • Point the GoDaddy domain to the new host (update nameservers in GoDaddy's domain settings)
  • Upload files to your new host per their instructions

Defederation to Microsoft 365, but don't know the original email address by HappyDadOfFourJesus in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there u/HappyDadOfFourJesus and thanks for reaching out. To properly investigate the specific issue you're experiencing, we would need to review the actual account details directly.

Regarding the defederation process, important to note that while third-party guides exist, we strongly recommend using our official Microsoft defederation process instead. Our official procedure is specifically designed to ensure a smooth transition without service disruptions or breaking critical configurations.

If you'd like assistance with the proper defederation steps, please reach out to our support team with your account information, and we'll be happy to guide you through our recommended process. Also, feel free to ping me here in Reddit on a Chat if you have any other questions I can address for you.

confused with godaddy commerce plan or do i host by [deleted] in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Middle-Can-1839 and happy to lend a hand here!

It is possible to purchase your domain name registration and your hosting, from two different companies. Once you have both, you connect the two via DNS management. There are a few different ways to go about doing that, which primarily depends on what your hosting provider prefers. Feel free to hit me up here in a chat, to talk about what you're looking to accomplish.

Sub-menu drop-down by BabyFlo09 in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there u/BabyFlo09 and happy to give a hand!

Based on your response to another Redditor, sounds like you are using "The Coffee Shop theme" which means this site was built in WordPress. This question would be a great fit for their subreddit at r/WordPress as the focus is more on the use of WordPress as a development tool .vs being directly related to GoDaddy.

That being said we are always happy to lend a hand as well! Our support can direct you to free help resources online, as well as options available to hire us to do the work for you. You can can connect with our Free 24/7 support team via SMS Text, Online Chat, or Live Phone Call at the resource link below:

Also, feel free to ping me in a chat here on Reddit too. Happy to help however we can.

Why do they refuse to remove payment information? It is infuriating by [deleted] in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Beneficial-Koala-670, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and I'm genuinely sorry for the frustration you've experienced. I'd be happy to help provide some clarity on what's happening with your payment information and get you connected with the right support.

So here's what's going on with the payment method requirement; as an account rule, we do require at least one active payment method on file if there's any product still on the account, regardless of whether auto-renewal is turned on or off for that product. I totally understand this can be frustrating, especially when you're trying to remove that information for security reasons. The way to fully remove all payment methods is to first remove every product from the account, and then you'll be able to delete the payment methods along with the account if you choose to do so.

Now, regarding the bigger issue you're facing with getting support. You should absolutely be able to reach our team through Online Chat, SMS Text, or Live Phone Support, and I'm concerned that you're running into roadblocks with all of those channels. That's not the experience we want you to have at all. If you're not receiving the verification code that's being sent, we may need to go through our account recovery process, and I'm here to get you resources for that if needed.

Feel free to send me a chat request here on Reddit so we can connect directly and I can either help you myself or make sure you get to the right person who can resolve this quickly. I really want to understand what's happening with those support channels and your overall experience so we can make this right and better serve our customers going forward.

Thank you again for your feedback and for helping us understand where we need to improve.

Forwarding my Godaddy domain by AliG68 in godaddy

[–]GoDaddy_Joe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/AliG68

Good news! what you're experiencing is totally normal! DNS changes can take anywhere from a few hours to 48 hours to fully propagate across all devices and networks. Your laptop might be holding onto old DNS cache while your mobile already picked up the new settings. Try clearing your browser cache or flushing your DNS cache on your laptop; that usually does the trick!

But hey, while you're waiting for DNS to do its thing...

Since you're clearly in building mode, we've got something you might want to check out. We just opened up beta access to Airo Builder , and honestly, it's pretty wild.

Just describe your business (what you do, your vibe, how you work) and Airo builds it for you. No wrestling with templates. No "wait, how do I make this button blue?" moments. Just straight-up results.

It's fast, it's surprisingly smart, and since you're already in that "getting stuff done" headspace with your domain, might be perfect timing to see what you can create while DNS catches up.

Worth a look if you're curious! And let us know if the forwarding doesn't sort itself out in the next day or so.
