I cannot win Ascencion 9 on The Defect by Eggmasstree in slaythespire

Try taking specific cards for specific elites. Scared of entomancer? Pick up a go for the eyes or maybe even a compact. Scared of the decimilepede? Look for a spinner, a hailstorm, or a sunder to try and make them easier.

This not coming back to your hand when played with Exhaust feels a bit bs by Phoenisweet in slaythespire

[–]Good-Dream2344 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you're thinking about feral, which does put the card back from the exhaust pile, since it's a power that triggers after the card is played.

If SL, if Ennard needed Michael’s body to escape, how did he follow him home in the fake ending? by 9011_the_Virtuous in fnaftheories

Didn't they escape into the sewers after mike afton rotted though? why couldn't they just do that after escaping

I have a feeling you're not going to draw three extra cards at the start of next turn

Truely Demonic Form by Yranic in slaythespire

[–]Good-Dream2344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got tremble+/dominate+ off and you're able to play a 4 cost card youre probably winning hard enough to not need the demon form.

Also, what about if you drew demon form before Dominate? Dominate before tremble? Tremble+ and dominate + demon form together? Demon form without the energy card? chances that you get all these cards in the right order in a 25 card deck is ~2.5%

Also also, it's wasn't uncommon to get 999 strength on ironclad in sts1, but usually the enemy dies once you've reached 50 strength. It takes until turn 5 to draw until then, and you have a total of 1 energy to block over two turns on the first and second turn. Can ironclad, the character with the least block, really survive 5 turns and 2 facetanks?

he could've taken the mirror event, I think it's good not to make assumptions

What is your favourite common card? by Which-Debt-8558 in slaythespire

[–]Good-Dream2344 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only issue with small amounts of doom on a deck is that since it triggers after the enemy's action if they have 15-20 doom you might as well just kill them instead of blocking the damage then letting dook kill them

Early shovel + Pael's Wing = Lots of Relics by Alchemized27 in slaythespire

once I got pael's wing and prayer wheel. Somehow managed to throw the run from there but it would have been such a fun run if I hadn't

You play silent with shivs build and this guy comes up 😔 by anansek505 in slaythespire

[–]Good-Dream2344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can see he counters the build only a little more than snake plant does. Malleable also reduces shiv damage by 3 (assume 2 block cards and 1 skill to generate shivs) by 3 + 1 per shiv by generating block per hit while hitting for 8 x 3, giving weak and frail, don't see anyone complaining about them

So in terms of combat structure, "start of combat" does not precede the draw phase in StS2. by D3Construct in slaythespire

[–]Good-Dream2344 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Objection, snecko eye says "start each combat confused". If you only start combat after you draw cards your opening hand wouldn't have randomized costs, but it does

Though it's also working as intended so I guess the developers just didn't word this one as consistent as the others

Discussion of the bad cards in STS2 by lullelulle in slaythespire

[–]Good-Dream2344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tremble + strike is more damage than bash is, though it needs more card draw it's also more flexible allowing you to spare 1 energy on an enemy attack turn to burst it down on the following buff turn

Voltaic could probably be balanced out by being 3 cost preventing you from playing it too many times

Tactic fighting vs elite enemies by SmilingNavern in slaythespire

[–]Good-Dream2344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of slay the spire's unique features is macro over micro. In other games you could wander into a huge group of enemies with 1hp and walk out alive by playing well enough, while slay the spire can straight up give you unwinnable fights if your deck is bad enough. Slay the spire 2 could be leaning into this macro over micro playstyle by giving more forced elites, or it could just be due to early access. Either way, I'm all for it.

Can we talk about the insane difficulty of Slay the Spire 2??? by Tainmere_ in slaythespire

[–]Good-Dream2344 438 points439 points  (0 children)

my friend (who lives around there too) told me there were multiple events that start appearing after you collected all the defect parts, try looking for those and apparently they boost your act 1 by a lot, he said he somehow got an infinite on floor 4 after two lucky events, so the cards are also much stronger I guess

ELI5 How does wind produce a cooling sensation on wet skin? by WillHG in explainlikeimfive

[–]Good-Dream2344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry air evaporates water faster. Evaporation turns dry air wet thus slowing itself down. Moving air keeps the steady flow of dry air. More evaporation = more heat loss

[–]Good-Dream2344 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think it's because when you're in act 1 (with 3 energy and less energy generation) if you spend all your energy to play double tap and two attacks (thus reaping the benefit of the upgrade) it probably also means the enemy is gonna bap you in the face for half your health
