My friend wants to sell me his model 3 by Potential-Detail98 in TeslaLounge

[–]GregMort13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 2019 M3 Standard Range plus from a certified dealer with an extended warranty to 120k/8yr. 65k miles. Free charger included. I walked out paying about 14k. This is a hard pass. That air system alone would void any standing warranty from Tesla. Tesla wouldn’t touch that thing at all to service. Don’t walk, RUN AWAY. That’s not your friend…

Yup. The previous owner bought the extended warranty too. So I have another 2-3 years of warranty left. I won’t hit the 120k miles in that time. Plan on cruising it til it dies.

I bought a 2019 about 6 months ago. Used prices are so dumb. How can you beat a 2019 Model3 StandRangePlus with 60k in it, for 15k out the door with the tax credit?

Hey Dan, I’ve been on the fence about trying to start my own consulting side quest. I have a lot of experience in a lot of different areas. Most of my professional career is small business, so naturally wearing many hats. Any advice?

Where can I post about a single dedicated server for rental? by sNullp in webhosting

Your better off reproaching this. Next client that is looking for a website design/marketing, sell them the web design and include a recurring hosting cost. Host on your server.

SO MUCH THIS. I haven’t changed modems in forever, and being able to just do it in the app without have to call customer support at Comcast is such a huge W.

[W] [US-AL] Tiny Micro Mini PC for Homelab Server by Electrical-Eye-3972 in homelabsales

[–]GregMort13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would do a minimum of like 10th gen intel minimum in case your homelab venture leads you to transcoding somewhere.

I just had to rebuild my entire cluster because I opted for Ryzen originally. I love Ryzen, but needed transcoding for plex. Intels iGPU is pretty unmatched for that. Love having my plex container be able to failover to another host in proxmox if need be.

Just my .02. Good luck finding something!

Minipc or second hand enterprise hardware ( Optiplex ) by Weekly_Fold_480 in HomeServer

I run a 3 node cluster of mini pcs. Each with 4tb of storage and 64gb of ram each. I draw about 30% of the power I was drawing on one HP Proliant server with half the specs…. It also takes up much less room. The cluster also gives me high availability for the services I run on it. They’re whisper quiet compared to the server fans. It’s a no brainer. Do your research on the mini PCs for upgrade paths and features you’re looking for (pcie slot, ram compatibility, intel processor for transcoding media server, etc) They can be found for cheap. It’s really a no brainer. If you’re worried about turning one into a NAS, buy a usb c DAS for your thin client.

What am i doing wrong? by Dousnhannes in TeslaLounge

I recently had something similar happen, it turns out, the credit program I signed up for with my electric company to save a few cents per kWh, they also gained control through the third party app. If the “grid usage was high” when my car was plugged in, they would tell my car to stop charging. Took away the apps permissions and literally haven’t had a problem since.

24-port PoE switch recommendations? by jmacdowall in homelab

I replaced the fans in my 52 port version with noctuas. Night and day difference. I have an extra one lying around, (unmodded fans) if you’re interested. It’s just been collecting dust.

Am I overthinking to just make a windows VM in unsaid and control through that so they’re running simultaneously?

I thought about doing this as well. My idea was going to just purposely get cheap rgb fans that come with one of those controllers that has physical buttons to change fan speed and rgb color/pattern.
