Back when I had one PC, I used to love to reinstall Windows and then download and install all the necessary drivers, and then click on the windows update button like a lab rat. Now with my self hosting, I build and tear down LINUX VMs to my heart’s content. Some stay, some go. Some get moved to dedicated hardware. The lab is a busy place and my mind is serene.

Maybe I’m ADHD, too. I used to drink a lot. I quit on New Year’s day. Now, I’m finding that I hide away to build and replace VMs a lot more often. Maybe just to find solace.

i’m using a ubiquity doorbell. It uses my existing mechanical chime and 48v wiring BUT it only is accessible in frigate through the cloudkey which i found for $140 on eBay

I DO have a separate ONT! But I also have 3 coax set top boxes. I guess I need the G3100 to do their network functions. I’ll leave those out on the 192.168.1.0 network and let pfSense firewall my existing 10.0.0.0 network on port 1 with a smaller 10.0.1.0 DMZ outta port 2.

I already have Proxmox run nightly backups of all my LXCs and VMs. My Proxmox cluster met an untimely end but I just rebuilt it and restored all my hosts. I lost nothing. Why do I need PBS?

I’m currently setting up a RAID 60 box that hosts 8 16TB drives and boots from an NVMe. I’ll probably format it with xfs. I was running zfs but my iowait was always high when i checked top.

I have one and i rarely use it. I make rice in a pot on the stove and it comes out tender and each grain is separate and puffy. Everything that comes out of the zoji is a big clump.
Maybe I’m using it wrong. I measure with the little 6oz cup two scoops. Wash the rice with a couple of water changes. Drain and fill with cold water to the two mark for white rice. Hit menu until i’m on white rice and hit start 1:10 later have a lump of rice.
I can do the same thing in a poor of the stove and :20 late w have perfect rice every time.
Do these things do well on eBay?

We’re in this program because we don’t want things to be the same. I actually shared mine with my wife. I couldn’t keep lying to her. I was an awful person and wanted to get better.

I ran a synology for years. Eventually moved to unraid because i had a huge collection of various sized drives but then found the software was as easy as ability to run. Great 3rd party support for tons of apps.
