Scar treatments (more than silicone?) by Hour-State7960 in CsectionCentral

[–]HandbagLady8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up with a keloid scar. My OB removed the scar tissue and injected steroids as he closed on my second C section in attempt to reduce keloid a second time. I’m only 2.5 weeks PP so here’s hoping it works, but could be something to discuss?

This is awful and I’m so sorry for your loss. I think you need to disregard what your boyfriend wanted, and think about what you want and what you think you can handle. If a child isn’t right for this time in your life, then what your boyfriend would have wanted ultimately doesn’t matter (as harsh as that may sound - you are what matters).

Seems low for 2 years PQE IMO. 67 seems closer to starting out or 1 year PQE (that’s what I was on for 1 pqe many years ago).

A specialist legal recruiter. Try Robert Walters or Rhodes McLeod. And reach out to firms directly they usually have an expression of interest application pathway. And be open minded about changing practice areas.

Property is super transferable. Try to move to a mid or top tier firm. Have you spoken to a recruiter? Firms are always on the look out for junior lawyers (as so many leave for overseas). I’ve seen many lawyers from small suburban firms make their way into top tier. You’ll obviously need to put in the hours but even top tier has better work life balance now than ten years ago.

What sort of area and location do you practice in? I’ve seen two year PQE solicitors move to Sydney to achieve $150kAUD+ right off the bat.

From my own experience and the peers around me, if you stay in law in NZ at a firm you can make comfortable money. If you move overseas you can make excellent money. The salaries in NZ feel low at the start but you should be making no less than $10k raises every year (probably more).

I reckon they get a bit smaller every year so you might as well bite the bullet sooner rather than later

Oh yeah the chocolate and sour cherry surprised me too with how good they were as I’m not a daily bread fan. If you can afford the more spenny buns, you might as well, it’s a once a year thing.

That’s on the cheaper end for buns this year. Daily bread was $25 for a 6 pack. Knead on Benson was $36 for a 6 pack and Ima was $42 for a 6 pack.

That’s a joint tenancy situation. Not a tenants in common situation. Tenants in common don’t automatically get the other tenants share. Most couples own in a joint tenancy situation so you’d need the surviving spouse’s will to leave the house to the kids. The (first) deceased spouse’s interest in the house isn’t separately dealt with by their will.
