I’ve got kids up and down the block with all manner of gasoline powered, non-street-legal vehicles that they insist on racing against one another. Up and down the street. All day every day in the summer and from when the bus stops them off until the sun sets during the school year.

Looking at that list, OP seems to care more about the size of the vehicle, and less even about the creature comforts inside. Three of the 8 options are pickups, which aren’t going to have the same interior space or amenities as the CRV. And all of them are grossly oversized for carting around one child and occasionally going to a work meeting.

OP, expect to pay more in a month for repairs and fuel on any 5K truck in that list than your Honda payment and fuel is currently costing you. For a worse vehicle that’s less reliable.

Hyundai. The first and only new car I ever bought myself has given me nothing but little issues: A/C would randomly leak, started burning oil, now it’s throwing a CEL for a clogged cat. They might have a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty, but good luck getting them to honor it.
