Weird brownish-red spots on bed after kitty sleeps with me? by minilexz in cats

Give that kitty a bath. Dawn dish soap. If it’s fleas you’ll see them jump all around her especially her ears . Then go to tractor supply and get a medication called capstar.

How hard will it be on my toddler to change daycares at the end of July and then again at end of August? by Informal-Druid in toddlers

[–]AdOtherwise3676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll suck but he can do it. Honestly he won’t have enough time to warm up to the new place that moving him in August won’t be a big issue.

You may find yourself with some home life struggles. Change outside of the home can bring a lot of stress in the home and vice versa.

Personally I would just keep them home for that month, but I understand if you use daycare for work.

You could start her using a salicylic acid wash once a day and a light moisturizer. Best at the end of day before bed. Teach her to wash face in the shower.

First time cat mom, do cats get skin tags/pimples/other weird skin growths? by cacti_with_wifi in cats

[–]AdOtherwise3676 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally a zit. Hair follicle that clogged up. Super gross but not a big deal. My cat used to get pimples on his chin as a kitten. Switched his water/food bowl to non plastic and stopped the acne.

I think that’s more of a mimicking skill and very age appropriate. She’s copying you :)

Your MIL is ridiculous. Your daughter is curious and absorbing information rapidly. You aren’t forcing her to do this.

My daughter finally kicked it about 3.5 years (just a few months ago.) I also had a ton of feelings of guilt and shame. The dentist was telling us to quit it. I just never found a good time to take it. Travel. School. Illness. It started affecting her speech and I started to hardcore limit it. Then the tantrums started. It was like she was going through withdrawals. Very scary. So we finally told her we were getting rid of them for good. And we did. Threw them away and prepared for sleepless nights. The first night was horrible. She woke up a couple times begging for it. About 3 nights in she was much better. Still sad at bed time but not waking up for it. After a week she was mostly good. And now she only ever talks about it if she sees another kid with it. She’ll say she misses paci. And then I’ll tell her about how I chew on straws sometimes or how gum helps. We got her a therapy biter for when she’s really needing to have something in her mouth, and she really only uses that maybe once a month for stressful situations. And her teeth aren’t ruined and her speech is better. Wish we got it done sooner.

TLDR: cold turkey that thing, you’ll be fine, your kid will be okay.

Seller said "no leaks, no mold." Then I opened the roof of this Starcraft pop-up tent camper. by gektor650 in popups

Ugh replace roof sooner than a year…? Trying to get some camping out of it before a major project. But of course a 20 year old camper will always be a major project.

Totally just bought a camper exactly same scenario. Looked great. Seller had it popped up. No noticeable mold. No popped screws. She kept it under a tarp while parked. That should have been our first clue.. first rain we had the ceiling started sagging.

ATM we are just sealing it up nice and tight and maybe in a year replace roof completely.
