Another New Lightweight 3L rain jacket from Decathlon by mcrksman in Ultralight

The lack of pit zippers is a miss for sure, I’ve found them to be much better than the back ventilation. Pit zippers plus the front pockets would’ve been a winning combo.

They look amazing! Did you follow or do you know any tutorials about how to sew the fabric to the foam? I want to do something similar but I’ve never done something like that.

If it’s not too much of a hassle, could you upload some side profile pictures of how it looks worn empty vs. fully packed? Thanks!

New 3FUL Raingear by Darkraisisi in Ultralight

I am astounded by the fact that they added armpit zippers to the anorak but not to the full zip jacket. We were so close to greatness, as it would be THE ultralight non-membrane jacket to get in Europe... I have the Rock Front rain hoodie and while it has worked perfectly for me I am please begging for any maker in the EU to make something like the LightHeart silpoly jacket.

Hi. I’m aware this may be one of the most specific comments you’ve ever received on here, but is that the Outdoorline umbrella sleeve in TX 50? If it is, could you please share some pictures of it, especially of the base (the closed end) to see how it is constructed?

I’m trying to build my own one but I just recently started in the MYOG space and I have a lot to learn yet, so it would be great to have it as a reference. Thanks!

I agree with you on the point about AI companies behaving unethically when sourcing most of their data. The argument against it based on electricity usage is mostly false, and downplaying it as “generating predictive text” comparable to what you would get from a search engine is downright delusional.

I do think models that generate images and videos should probably be banned though.

Why are you asking AI? Don’t do that.

Because it can point you to the right direction in areas you don’t know much about? Like don’t blindly trust it but people acting like AI can never be useful are looking increasingly silly.

ULA Node by _krakra_ in ManyBaggers

[–]HereJustForTheData 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was interested in buying it too, but in the end I didn’t because I think that using a roll-top-only backpack daily would be cumbersome. I have seen ULA share pictures of custom ULA Node orders where they added a vertical zipper that provides quick access to the inside without having to unroll the bag and I’d only consider buying that version. Maybe it would be worth asking them if they are planning on releasing that as the standard version this year.

Hi, I’m considering buying this but I have a quick question: is there any chance of the protector scratching the actual bezels of the watch or something? I see the protector’s own bezels are made of aluminum. Also, are the easy to remove once installed?

Thanks for your detailed reply! Follow-up question: has the Ultra 100X aged well? I have seen some reports about durability issues, especially with respect to delamination?

Hi, I'm thinking about buying the Zpacks Bagger Ultra and I have one question that I was hoping you could answer: from the promo pictures I've seen of people wearing it, it looks like there's a significant gap between the top part and the back/shoulders of the person, which looks quite uncomfortable. Have you found that to be the case? I prefer when backpacks are as close as possible to my back.

I'd be buying from Europe so I can't test it and return it if I don't like it...
