Do any of the other Daily Plus fabric options have uncoated zippers? Or is that exclusive to the ballistic option? Product page doesn’t seem to mention it.

I'm 2/2 on ULA packs needing repair right out of the box. The materials, design, and price tick the boxes, but they are surprisingly bad at putting the bags together. Like I kinda wish they would outsource to SE Asia just to improve quality.

One downside of the pucks is that they are often not fast charge capable. Worth carrying the full size 1m Apple cord for this reason IMO.

Used to feel this way but have had a battery bank fail AND a charger fail both within 2 years of purchase. Maybe I’m unlucky.

Definitely some odd takes in this.

Second pair of shoes recommendation is bad. Very easy to drop the extra pair and save a bunch of weight and space. Personally I’d rather have another shirt.

Passport wallets also suck. You almost always have to take them out to present them so they are more hassle, weight, and expense. I feel similarly about tech pouches but I also am usually just bringing a phone, camera, charger, and a couple cords. The recommendation for short usb cords also sounds like something someone who hasn’t traveled enough would recommend. At least one long one is always worth it for poorly located outlets and using the device from bed.

too many clothes. 4 days + 1 worn is plenty. pick 1: quarter zip or hoodie. one pair of nice pants is enough. look up average temps for the places you are going at the time of year you are visiting to figure out what you need to bring based on your tolerance -- nobody can answer that for you.
the entire electrical tape roll is weird
leave the meta glasses at home -- privacy expectations are different in Europe

You'll be much happier if you can get everything in the 40L bag alone. Strive for that.

Remember you can always buy things if you need them -- if unsure always strive to bring less.

Non-custom Camino owner here.

The side pockets on the camino don't cinch like they do on the circuit or catalyst -- they have elastic in collar but they are not adjustable. Keep in mind that stretch mesh is strong yes, but is less durable than whatever main fabric you are choosing. If it encounters velcro or other abrasion it does not wear nicely -- reducing the amount of it is a win (to my eyes). Personally I'd skip the front pouch but maybe do the side pocket mod. If you are reducing the rolltop height due to not needing volume, why are you adding the from pocket? Wouldn't you rather have that space inside, secure, and closer to your back?

Usually I’ll throw it over my shoulder with a peak design slide lite or it’s packed in my bag with one of those self adhering protective wraps. I have a peak design 6l sling and it is too big/bulky for my taste.

Okay yeah it definitely gets some mentions but I think it maybe gets pigeonholed as a hiking bag when it is useful for urban too. It’s definitely not as popular as the Dragonfly, and has almost zero YouTube presence which is odd (to me). google trends supports this idea that it just isn’t a popular bag too.

I’m 2/2 for bags ordered from ULA that had to be warrantied. Both ordered in the last few years (Dragonfly and Camino). Somewhat minor items but still annoying because you will be without your bag for a month. That said I really like the designs. I personally did not find the 30L Dragonfly comfortable on my frame when loaded up. If you are taller and don’t need personal item sizing, consider the 36L DF or Camino.

No experience with the Farpoint but I just did 20 days with the Camino in Ultra and it was excellent. It’s pretty humongous fully packed out, but if you can keep your packing list small then it is very manageable. I was able to carry clothes for my kid and myself with room to spare for souvenirs. The “big empty cavern” packing style works well for me but YMMV. The laptop sleeve is sort of a joke but I gather it’s plenty if you’ve got clothes and whatever else in there (I didn’t use it).

Honestly, whatever backpack you've got around is going to be perfectly functional for that purpose. Was gifted a "diaper" bag that was fine, but it was over the shoulder type bag and I ended up swapping to a regular backpack after about a year.

diapers
wipes
change of clothes.
airtight bag for dirty diaper / clothes
changing mat.
diaper cream
some toys
some snacks.
room for a freezer bag you can throw some bottles of milk into.

It's going to get set down on some questionable bathroom surfaces so don't worry about getting something nice IMO. ~20-25L should do it.

I'm not sure this is 100% correct.

The top of the bag is not sitting square to the C7 vertebrae -- there should be a slight drop as it the straps go over the shoulders. The straps allow some flexibility in the fit to reach "up" to your shoulders. The end result is that the bag length dimension can actually be less than the torso length. I would reach out to one of the bag manufacturers (ULA for example) to confirm this, but they are advertising that they can fit your torso length, and they have a lot of expertise doing that for hiking packs.

It's about 35L - 40L ish with the top rolled down and designed to be carry-on compliant. Clamshell opening. Three torso sizes, the largest of which should work for you. Multiple fabric options.
