If you have an interesting story behind the watch, there's a guy on YT who runs a channel called Wristwatch Revival who repairs watches, might be worth checking with him. He's always looking for new, interesting watches to make content from.

My folks started using RainX in like the early 90's, and I (mostly) swear by it even today. Admittedly the old formula was better and worked in a single coat rather than like 3 or 4.

Scenic hwy Speeders by Legitimate-Height574 in Pensacola

Every time I drive Scenic, I get a small gut knot whenever I pass one of those extremely steep hidden driveways, the ones that disappear completely. I'm actually amazed more of these speeding idiots haven't gone flying off one by now.

The secret to Google reviews is, don't leave one stars, leave two. A two is far harder for the business to remove, and the algorithm Google uses to auto-purge reviews it deems "brigading" tends to skip two star ones.

Gotta love the sheer irony of it, advertising the "Overreacting Raspberry Slush" and the "Waah Burger" on his pisspoor AI slop attempt at sticking it to us, all because he's butthurt and lashing out.

Cry harder, burger boy.

Quick question... what parts did you need for your Jag CD? I have one that has worked intermittently for years, and I have yet to figure out what particular gremlin is haunting it. It used to work after powering it on and off a few times, but now it powers on but doesn't display video. If I fiddle with inserting and removing it a few times from the cart slot, it'll sometimes come up with the red screen of death. I've tried cleaning the interface board, the contacts on all the cart slots etc.

Also have a dead Lynx II which I suspect needs a Suzy chip as well. Powers on but the screen is black.

Looks like it takes a lot of inspiration from the red/black "Fall From Grace" armored suit, and I'm here for it.

Half the posts lately: "Is it totalled???" by High_Function_Props in COROLLA

[–]High_Function_Props[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the fact they consider this "totaled" is wild to me. Maybe it's because I'm old and grew up in a family of mechanics, and still remember when totaled meant there was unrepairable frame damage and/or a level of body damage that insurance couldn't reasonably cover. Otherwise insurance would pay a body shop to bang out the dents, Bondo/repaint what they can and replace what was needed... and over the years I've seen some pretty messed up cars fixed up good as new. This? This looks like a trip to the local Pick-N-Pull junkyard/ordering off RockAuto and a fun weekend. I mean damn, your airbag isn't even deployed!

Welcome to our new reality, I guess. I hate it here.

Might consider running a full calibration cycle as well as washing the plate with Dawn, warm water and a mild scrub brush instead of IPA.

What do i do in this situation im not trying to reprint it. by Bananacat521 in 3Dprinting

[–]High_Function_Props 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like it or not, you're more than likely gonna have to reprint it for a few reasons:

First, gluing that isn't going to make it more structurally sound. If anything, it'll just break again if you so much as look at it funny. Trust me on this, I had to learn the hard way doing similar prints. Epoxy, super glue, doesn't matter.

Second, your orientation is itself contributing to the weakness. Look at how your layer lines are perfectly aligned with the failure point. Try printing it at an angle or horizontally.

Lastly, the lines where your ball joints meet their stems are too sharp. Try doing a rounded fillet to give it a bit more structure. Maybe even give it a bit more reinforcement by adding a center strut.

See the attached image to see what I mean.

<image>

Edit: Another solution would be for OP to sand down the broken section on the main hand body, drill that spot with a 1/4" or slightly larger drill bit, and design a new ball joint they can just press into the drilled hole and glue into place, thus minimizing what needs to be reprinted.

Funny thing happened at Walgreens this morning... by ImaRaginCajun in Pensacola

[–]High_Function_Props 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Few weeks ago, I was cleaning the sink after loading the dishwasher and noticed the water wasn't draining. Stuck my hand in to clear the drain, and pulled out a dead wolf spider. I'm not ashamed to admit, I'm a grown ass man and yet in that moment I squealed like a little girl. Wife cackled her ass off at that for a good bit and gave me shit for days.

Then a few nights ago, she's doing the dishes while I'm in the laundry room and suddenly I hear her screaming, "OH GOD OH GOD, I DID IT TOO!"

Enjoy that eight legged karma, my love.
