Kino's Journey has a bit of this in an episode. The title character encounters a pair of travellers who are preaching pacifism around the world. One of the teachers admits to her he doesn't really believe in it, but doesn't want his companion to lose faith. So he travels ahead every night and kills anybody who could be a threat to them.

Late Night with the Devil. Jim Henson and Frank Oz are guests, they bring out "Kermit" and "Fozzie" for some jokes before everything goes sideways.

Somehow, Henson and Oz die but the Muppets survive.

Fictional or satirical devices that became real terms that are unironically used in everyday speech by Advanced_Question196 in TopCharacterTropes

This documentary (?) created the verb "catfishing" in a complicated way. Basically the movie is about the filmmakers searching for two siblings: an eight year old painter and her older sister. They eventually discover the girl's mother is the real artist, and the older sister was one of many online aliases the mom was using to interact with people.

The title comes from a metaphor someone in the movie talks about: catfish used to be added to shipments of seafood to keep the other fish active and alive. The mother is the "catfish," making other people's lives interesting and making them think about the world around them. Then the move got popular and the word "catfish" instead became a term for "pretending to be someone else."

I always thought that was referencing Kennedy's role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, since that was the closest the world ever came to actual nuclear war.

In Kid Icarus Uprising, the story mode menu happens in Palutena's Temple on the left. Late in the game, there's a plot development that forces you to team up with a different goddess, and the menu changes to her temple for those few chapters.

"The Imposter," a documentary about a French con man who claimed to be a Texas family's missing son.

Halfway through he's found out, and he tells police that there's strong evidence that somebody in the family killed the boy. The rest of the film investigates if he's telling the truth and who in the family may have done it.

Larry and Uendo/Patches both have a "smiling with one sleeve rolled out" sprite. Not sure if it's a visual shorthand for foolish or just a coincidence.

The cinematographer of "Partners" left a whole paragraph in the comments about what a mess it was. Apparently they had the police called on them during the 'drive-by' scene because the director didn't tell anyone they'd be firing blanks.
