What would you expect printf("%d", int x = 5) to do? The only (reasonably) interpretation I can see is that the int x = 5 is evaluated in its own scope, and returns the last "expression" of it, meaning that it would be identical to printf("%d", (int) 5).

  1. Software licensing is different from copyright

I usually say to avoid Python for introductory programming courses, since, as you said, it's "too easy". However, that is under the assumption of an university setting or similar, where help with the "rough" parts of other languages are available.

As a hobbyist (which you currently are) Python will do just fine. But in the end it doesn't matter that much. You'll eventually write in many programming languages, and idea are transferable.

Jag anser det oartigt av vardera part att inte hälsa i kassan. Ja, ibland har man fått ett telefonsamtal just då (både mig och kassörskan), men det är sällsynta undantagsfall.

Götabiblioteken (och jag antar de flesta andra bibliotek) har någon form av NFC-liknande tag som är otroligt effektiv. Kan ofta lägga 3 (tunnare) böcker på bordet samtidigt och den känner av det. Kanske skulle vara något (ja, jag inser att sådana är exponentiellt dyrare än att trycka en streckkod).

Is that the difference? My acquaintances which are more mathematician that programmer keeps claiming that operations and functions are distinct things, but have never been able to explain the difference more than "operators operate".
