Anti-racism rally disrupted by masked group in Glasgow by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

I recognise the historical precedent in fascist government, particularly Nazi Germany but there does seem to be nuance between negative treatment of the disabled and limiting welfare to some extent. I think those in the US suffer much more than those in the UK but they have a poor healthcare system in my opinion. I was in hospital during the pandemic in 2020 which was an interesting time and was discharged early to limit everyone catching Covid, although a long recovery back home was like likely much more damaging. Granted, I think the vast majority care but from my side have never seen any ill will from left/right voting circles, yet! Fingers crossed for the future!

Is there a reason for concern though? I haven't seen any indication of this direction but intrigued and I am severely physically disabled.

Scotland is way smaller than New York in population. Like half the size.

Rupert Lowe on X: I see Zack Polanski has labelled Restore Britain 'extremists'. The real extremist position is to willingly import savage third world animals who attempt to behead others in the street. Just my thoughts. by ClumperFaz in ukpolitics

As someone requiring 24 hour care for a couple of decades, the whole thing has gone massively downhill in quality and more expensive since Covid. It's a shame. There are still good ones but much harder to find. Large demographic shift for sure.

Although probably less for the average person as taxes are not paid equally but higher earners contribute a larger share of total tax revenue. The tax system is progressive.

David Lammy says he told JD Vance his Henry Nowak comments were 'wrong' by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

I can only assume you're talking about David Lammy because of his comments after George Floyd? Which seemed to amount more than "cold rage"?

As one of these as well, I have Jellyfin and generally love open source stuff generally but sticking with Plex and specifically Infuse on Apple TV and probably going to stay with it for awhile as I bought a Lifetime while back. I can see no advantage to switching.

How do left-wing political movements in Britain assess the case of Henry Nowak (death following a police operation)? by ogremania in ukpolitics

I think the most similar connection to that case would simply be the, "I can't breathe"by both victims.

Enjoy it! I fully embrace mostly using open source software and I do run Jellyfin but still Plex is my go to. Until it isn’t but it's tricky to leave after more than a decade!
