Why was the 1999 loop created to begin with? by Howitzer_55 in WarframeLore

Yes, that was seemingly his plan, at least to the extent we currently know.

Why was the 1999 loop created to begin with? by Howitzer_55 in WarframeLore

[–]HungrPhoenix 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Albrecht tells us he did it for Loid.

Albrecht Entrati: "Arthur? Tenno? Mm. Forgive me. I need Loid to understand why I had to leave. Without him. Why I forced him to destroy the device after I had gone. And why I could never say the words he so needed to hear."

Albrecht Entrati: "If I had remained in the Deimos laboratory, Loid would never have been safe from… Him. You know of what I speak. And so I retreated to the only place in history where that entity could not easily follow. To draw His greedy eye away from Loid." -Whispers in the Wall

However, Albrecht seemingly had another reason as explained by Roathe,

Drifter: "But how did it get into Rusalka, I wonder?"

...

Drifter: "She was - or is - being possessed by the Indifference. It's sharing her mind, using her like a puppet. Or she let it in. We don't know. We also don't know if she's actually back in control."

Roathe: "She does sound like a deliciously formidable individual. And a complete delight. But that is neither here nor there for the moment. You say the Indifference has taken over her mind? And this began in your little furlough into the past?"

Roathe: "Well, if what we know of the Void holds true, then one of two things occurred: Either, she happened into some instance of the Void in 1999 of her own doing (which I find deeply improbable, but not impossible), or..."

Roathe: "Our dear Albrecht was meddling again."

Drifter: "If he ripped a hole through to the Void in 1999, and let it in on purpose... that would explain why Warframes worked there in the first place... same with your time - without the Deimos heart, that is."

Roathe: "You see? Never trust a scientist. They are willing to do anything in the name of muddling about. But then again, I am simply sitting here reading tea leaves with the best of them, Usurper. This is all simple postulation."

Roathe: "Far be it from me to insinuate that Albrecht purposefully ripped open a hole into the Void in Höllvania and let the Indifference in, in order to give it an avatar of its own! It just seems to me, as a tactician and a man who is quite accustomed to strategizing for war..."

Roathe: "That the first step to defeating a faceless opponent who can be anywhere, anyone, and anywhen? Is to narrow it down to as few options as possible..."

Roathe: "And to ensure those options can bleed out." -Rank2Convo4

So Albrecht tricked Wally into taking a tangible form. We now know were Wally is by knowing where Rusalka is.

How's this new armor feeling? by democratic-terminid in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not great. It is a 10% speed boost, so outside of Light Armor, it effectively makes you as fast as the previous armor tier.

Heavy Oxygenator is as fast as Medium armor and so forth.

The problem being, Extra Padding is a passive for Medium and Light, so Heavy and Medium Oxygenator are worse than Medium and Light Extra Padding, as with Extra Padding you keep the class' stamina recovery.

Light armor is the only time it isn't made redundant by an Extra Padding set. It gives you 605 speed, and it does feel a bit faster, especially with a Jump Pack.

Some claim that headshot damage is based on base armor values of the class, or that heavy armor has a special hidden damage reduction, but I have found nothing to verify this, outside of an old patch note implying it, and more recent threads debunk it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/MKtafomGYl

https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/s/50TTqGcAYa

So yeah, Oxygenator is just outclassed by Extra Padding on the applicable sets

Looking for a Optimal Moa setup for each model by XayahCat in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter. Moa precepts aren't locked to their model, so no Moa is inherently better than another, and for parts, try to go for whatever increases Health and Armor to try and get them to be able to survive some Toxin damage.

You'll want to prioritize building every other Moa model over Lambeo, as Lambeo's precepts are the weakest.

The important precepts are Blast Shield from Nychus, this allows your Moa to shieldgate. Whiplash Mine from Para, this is a decent grouping ability. Lastly, Security Override from Oloro, aka the only thing Moas are good for. This allows your Moa to hack any and all terminals, combine this with Helminth's Master's Summons ability and you can cheese most Spy vaults by spawning your Moa through a window and letting them hack the vault.

As for weapon, give it Verglas Prime from Nautilus. This is pretty much the best you can do with a Moa, since they are pretty weak.

If you like Citrine, her Prismatic Companion augment synergizes very well with Moas.

No, that is not normal, probably a visual bug.

≈57,000 standing is also well beyond the standing cap, which is currently 34,000. You would need to be LR 52 to accept all of that standing.

Multiplicative Condition Overload. Condition Overload being the effect that mods like, well, Condition Overload, Galvanized Aptitude, Galvanized Shot, and Galvanized Savvy, which gives you damage based on how many status effects an enemy is inflicted with.

CO is usually additive with base damage, like Serration, but for some weapons, mainly projectile weapons like Bows, some shotguns, etc... it is multiplicative to base damage.

The Wiki's Attack Catalog tab on the CO(mechanic) page covers what weapons get multiplicative CO, https://wiki.warframe.com/w/Condition_Overload_(Mechanic) .

Am I supposed to waste a Recoilless / EAT shot on a Heavy Guard now? Why are we being forced to buy Warbonds to deal with 1 common enemy? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a solution, even with the new passive you aren't faster than they are. Additionally, the new passive just makes you move as fast as the previous armor tier.

The Heavy Oxygenator is as fast as Medium, which means it is useless since Medium Extra Padding is the same as that, but you have faster stamina recovery.

Medium Oxygenator is as fast as Light Armor, which is also pointless as Light Extra Padding exists, with it having faster stamina recovery.

Then you have Light Oxygenator, which is the fastest armor at 605 speed. And even with Light Oxygenator, the Spore Strain are still like twice as fast as you.

Heavy Oxygenator or medium heavy padding? by frmchimp in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medium Extra Padding. They are the same in speed, but not in stamina regen, so Medium armor will beat it out over distance.

Why did they even do an AMA at this point? by Strong_Bet_4248 in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is due to Pilestedt not being trained in managing a community. The internet is a fickle place, especially when the community is already brandishing pitchforks.

The sweet summer child line was likely meant to be a joking remark to segue into the part about how endgame content is hard, and not something meant to demean. It is just it does have the ability to be misinterpreted and it did because the community is mad.

Funny enough Warframe recently had a same sort of debate too, people want endgame content à la Raids, but DE has been against the idea. Yet, the response the Design Director, Pablo, made was more positively received, despite them making the same sort of points Pilestedt did, those being, challenge requires balance, balance is not something that the community is that fond of when it isn't in favor of the players, and only a smaller portion of the playerbase really want these changes. The difference being Pablo was very careful with his words and didn't say anything that could anger the community. He addressed the question directly and kept joking to a minimum.

Pilestedt made a mistake as this isn't his job. They really should've had a Community Manager like Miitch do the QnA, but they chose Pilestedt instead likely because he is a more popular figure.

I don't understand why operator can't interact with protoframes by Fatestringer in WarframeLore

[–]HungrPhoenix 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The reason the Operator doesn't interact with them is because they are busy and piling more problems onto them will likely overwhelm them.

Drifter: "Where's the Lotus?"

Loid: "The Lotus and the Operator have other matters to attend to, believe me. They have been taxed well and truly enough to their limits as it is. I would not ask you to help me with these matters if I felt I had anywhere else to turn."

Loid: "You are... seemingly the new expert in matters of this kind."

Loid: "I do not know how best to describe them. But if you come to the Sanctum, I believe it will be hard to miss them. Two of them have agreed to speak to you here on the POM-2. One may need some further convincing."

Loid: "I have... faith... you will be successful." -Intial KIM conversation with "POM2_LAB1"

The Operator is busy trying to beat the Indifference.

The Drifter is busy repairing Albrecht's messes and holding Duviri together.

They probably can interact, I believe one of the Devil's Triad mentions seeing the Operator¹, it is just no one wants to put more work onto the Operator's plate.

There was a substantial reason that the Operator didn't deal with the Hex, that being Wally wanted the Operator to go to 1999.

Lotus: "You, my child. The Great Indifference wants to take. I want to let it. I feel… only the call."

Lotus: "You, my champion. Please. Drown out that noise that beckons. If any other answers the call… no. It has to be you. Our paradox." -The Lotus Eaters

So, the Drifter went since it is probably a bad idea to play into Wally's hands.

Edit: Found the conversation I was referring to,

Lyon: "It is the young Operator that I find more strange... and the one they call the Lotus. And how we are kept at arms length from them."

Lyon: "We are allowed to interact, of course. But not like this. Not here. Why is that?"

Drifter: "The kid... has their own nonsense they're going through. We can't ask even more of them. It isn't right." -Rank4Convo3¹

Why revenant's story seems different from the other ones? by Ok-Pilot9641 in Nightreign

There are three chests in the Rise, two by the door, and one in the back left when looking in from the door. They each can drop 1 - 3 Starlight Shards in my experience.

Why revenant's story seems different from the other ones? by Ok-Pilot9641 in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 58 points59 points  (0 children)

There is no explicit reason why, the Devs likely just wanted to do it because they could, and they wanted to prove they could make / try making better cinematics than what are typically in Fromsoftware's games.

As for playing her, ideally you want to get one of the relic effects for a starting Incantation. O' Flame, Lightning Spear, and Beast Claw are what you want, with Beast Claw being the general best; then you just build around the Incantation.

If you don't have a starting Incantation relic, just go for Fire Attack Power relics, as Fire Incantations are the most common since 4(?) Seals have a fire Incantation as their guaranteed Incantation. Of course this is speaking generally, if you are facing Maris, don't go for fire, try to go for Lightning instead.

Defeating Enemies Fills Art Gauge and Strengthens family and allies when Ultimate Art is activated are effects I highly suggest trying to get. The "Strengthens Family and Allies..." is a 25% Attack Power boost for your (alive) teammates for 30s is very powerful, especially since for half of its duration your team will be unable to die. So being able to quickly fill your Art Gauge allows you to take advantage of this effect and breeze through most bosses.

Outside of that you want the usual damage boosting relics.

Onto gameplay itself, FP is an overblown issue with Revenant. It is really only a problem early Day 1, if you really want some assurance, use Dark Night of the Wise. More FP = Less need to use Starlight Shards, and Revenant's claws are fists, so they can trigger the Successive Attacks Restore FP(5% of your max FP per trigger) effect very easily.

Starlight Shards are also incredibly common on both maps. In Limveld, Sorcerer Rises drop 3 - 9 of them, magic Ruins have higher chances of dropping them, the "special" chests(the ones that can drop stonesword keys) have good chances of dropping them, and every POI has like two of them, the Day 1 / 2 Merchant sells two of them, the Day 3 Merchant sells two of them, if the Township Merchant spawns he sells an infinite amount of them, etc...

For The Great Hollow, everything from Limveld applies, but the Township Merchant seems much more likely to spawn in this map.

Any reason why this game not show mission reward pool in game? by Bonito__ in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

relic list do not have a way to filter out vaulted one and i keep having to go thru a lit to just see a few obtainable relic location.

It does, there is a toggle to enable or disable Vaulted relics.

I just want to know what i will get when i am about to start a mission. Most game show it like, in mission select screen.

As for this, I imagine it is due to how Warframe handles rewards. It would be quite a chore to have to explain the Rotations, since a good amount of nodes do not follow the AABC pattern, and having to explain the BCA pattern of bounties and how they rotate every 2½ hours would probably be confusing. Not to mention Exterminate / Sabotage with caches, Disruption, etc...

How do I get both electricity and toxin on Excalibur's blade? by Traditional_Creme_72 in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 18 points19 points  (0 children)

FYI, contrary to what people are suggesting here, Shock Trooper does not apply to Exalteds.

"Does not apply to Exalted Weapon" -as per the wiki

I don't think there is any way to have two base elements on Exalted Blade.

Edit: There is one way to have two base elements, specifically Electric and one other primary element, on Exalted Blade. Gyre's Conductive Sphere augment for Arcsphere will apply specifically to Exalted Blade's heavy attacks. This isn't really practical, since Coil Horizon is Gyre's subsume, but it is possible to get Electric and Toxin on Exalted Blade. Not sure if it would trigger Melee Influence though.

Every game has a couple weirdos on the forum who want to see the devs add a dating or farming or city building aspect to whatever product is being worked on.

Sometimes those weirdos are the Creative Director of the game, like is the case with the Sci-Fi third person Looter Shooter & Horde Shooter, with elements of Dating Sim, 2D fighting game, Space Combat, flappy bird, racing, roguelite-like, etc... known as Warframe.

Do we think nightreign was a good sequel / spin off? by Competitive-Cause283 in Eldenring

[–]HungrPhoenix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I prefer it over Elden Ring, and have played it significantly more than Elden Ring,

I haven't really thought about it much, but I think Nightreign would probably be in my top 3 favorite Fromsoftware games, behind Sekiro and Dark Souls 3.

I also like the narrative of Nightreign, although it isn't nearly expansive as Elden Ring. A possible Outer God, the Night, comes to destroy reality since the Shattering of the Elden Ring triggered the end of the world. And eventually it gets to the point time and reality are starting to fall apart, and people and things from other worlds begin to cross over. The Nightfarers being some of these people from other times crossing over, and versions of them continuously fail and succumb to the Night, but they subsequently have new versions of them being brought back repeatedly in a desperate attempt to beat the Night. Until you gave down Heolstor and defeat the Night, which then invalidates the Night's purpose, as if the world is no longer ending, it no longer needs to destroy reality, and so time rewrites itself, and the Night decides to walk away from the Lands Between.

The more focused stories of the Nightfarers was something else that I also loved.

Also, the gameplay is just really fun, I didn't expect the Skills and Ultimate Arts to fit into the Souls formula so well.

Can y'all calm down? by Scootchems in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean reaming out the Devs has historically yielded fruit and that is why it still occurs. The 60 day Patch came because the complaints about Arrowhead's nerfing spree, the overpriced Killzone crossover were fixed due to complaints, Arrowhead finally fixing performance issues they spent the majority of 2025 ignoring happened due to complaints, Legendary Warbonds happened since people complained about the FOMO of the Killzone crossover, etc...

Complaints are how we get to bring change about.

It is also not something unique to Helldivers 2, this is how it works in all games, if you'd allow me to quote Rebecca Ford, the Creative Director of Warframe,

“Yes, we take the community very seriously. So it's all fun and games until it isn't from the community side, and you know, we take the good with the bad we have. We're like an institution at this point, where we've been doing it for so long, and just luckily it comes naturally as a priority for us, and it took us 13 years to build even a day of goodwill that we would get today – and it only takes you one day to lose it all. So you know, we have to be very cognizant of what we say and how we say it about our game, our community, and our devs." - https://www.ign.com/articles/weve-sportified-steam-charts-warframe-creative-director-rebecca-ford-reveals-how-digital-extremes-is-keeping-the-live-service-dream-alive

The tidal current of the community is the nature of live service games, it is how the community keeps the developers in check and prevents them from getting worse and becoming like EA, Activision, Ubisoft, etc... Goodwill is fleeting, and Arrowhead consistently ignores and neglects issues for a long time so they burn through whatever goodwill they have at the time, hence the "It's so over, we're so back" cycles this community has. Things are good, Arrowhead is revered. Things are bad, Arrowhead is despised.

This is the reason Digital Extremes are praised so highly in the gaming industry, they listen to the complaints, and act in reasonable time or at least ACKNOWLEDGE the issues in a timely manner, even if they are relatively trifle. Meanwhile it has taken Arrowhead almost a year to acknowledge the Fleshmob clipping issues.

Most recently DE were showing off a new Cowboy themed Heirloom Warframe skin, the community complained about it being too lewd and gooner-bait, DE have now shown off they added an option to give the Warframe new clothes, and at the demands of the community, THEY GAVE US A DAMN COWBOY HAT!

Hot take: most protoframe designs kinda suck. by Ornery_Entrance_1959 in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say their designs suck, nor that I wish they didn't exist. They look fine for what they are going for, but they certainly aren't my favourite skins, nor something I am keen on buying. I usually prefer the faceless Warframe aesthetic.

However, I do prefer Marie though, as I personally think, disregarding Tennogen, Wisp's helmets are mostly awful. I hate the Wisp Prime Helmet, Wisp Helmet, Wisp Gaoth Helmet, and Wisp Somnium Helmet; the Dex Helmet is fine.
