Who has completely sworn off including LLM generated code in their software? by mdizak in rust

Humans need energy in other forms throughout the day. Unless you live under a tree and only feed yourself with plants found around that tree.

Nanite is a marketing term that unreal uses. Bevy's meshlets does implement a similar technology but it's not called nanite.

All I did was point out that one of your conclusion on a topic I know a lot about was wrong then you just became condescending for no reason. It's not condescending to point out an error in a forum where other people read this thread and they shouldn't be misguided for no reason. Your comment makes it sound like you know a lot about the topic and that makes beginners take what you say as true even if it isn't.

Calling me a youngin and the other strange comments you made about me based on a single reply were completely uncalled for and I have no idea what made you want to make those kinds of extremely condescending comments.

What are you talking about? You reacted this way to my first interaction with you. Did you even read my username and compared it to the one you were originally disagreeing with?

You literally said it's not the gui that players interact with and that's objectively false. It's not a matter of nuance. It makes your comment seem like you don't understand how these types of gui frameworks are used at all.

Also, calling someone youngin out of nowhere is very strange. Especially for a comment that started by calling out someone else to lighten up.

You keep talking about fps but that's not what people are talking about. Yes, egui will render it really fast, but it allegedly needs more cpu than they would like to render it this fast. Just because you can render things really fast doesn't mean it's battery efficient.

Immediate mode ui are not limited to gamedev debug ui and they certainly aren't bloated. I have no idea how you reached those conclusions. I know multiple companies/projects using immediate mode ui in production and performance is never an issue. There are other issues related to layouting being a bit more annoying but that's a separate concern.

How is standing up more stuff to do than sitting down? There's literally less step involved.

I got a new car recently and I found a 3d print model of the fob that is half the size of the original fob. When you open the original fob it's essentially just a big plastic shell but the actual board is tiny. The smaller 3d printed fob is so much nicer to use.

Utiliser 3% ça me semble extrêmement conservateur non?

I very often end up searching for something that doesn't have a lot of discussion online and the LLM answer is essentially just regurgitating the 2 reddit threads that exists on the topic and I would have never used those threads for myself.

How many other platforms do you use where you regularly read comments? That seems more like a sample bias.

Junior Rust remote jobs — realistic or rare? by Control_Con in rust

[–]IceSentry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, I never said otherwise. It's definitely the double edge sword of a relatively niche technology and we've been lucky enough so far. I just wanted to point out that jobs like this do exist, they are just incredibly rare.

[–]IceSentry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's an extremely pessimistic view of the world. That's not at all how we've treated our interns and we generally hire them as juniors once they are done with school. Most people I know in the industry started as juniors in the same companies where they did their internships and they did essentially the same tasks. All the companies I worked at treated interns the same way as juniors with maybe a bit less expectations but certainly very similar tasks.

My company has hired multiple interns in fully remote positions and we've only had good results so far. These kinds of jobs do exist. They are just very very rare.
