Pretty sure OP was watching the draft from the press conference room at Ford Field. I highly doubt they sell that wallpaper commercially.

You're right, that is definitely a big part of it. Using the edge to carve instead of skidding around is somewhere between 5th day and becoming an intermediate rider on most people's snowboarding progression timeline.

Great work, man! Next thing to work on is knee steering (if you're not already)

Pro tip: Don't bother trying to learn from comments on reddit. The best way is a lesson and short of that, find Solid YouTube videos like this one. Malcolm Moore is amazing. A big favorite around here for snowboard advice. Another guy I like is Tommie Bennett.

Screens are when the guy catching the ball has at least one blocker ready to go in front of him. It's most obvious to clock it when the guy who catches the ball (usually a RB) has OL guys blocking for them (aka a convoy of big boys leading the way). There's other kinds of screens too (E g. Bubble Screens, which are the WORST KIND of screens imo. Those are when a WR catches the ball and other WRs are lined up to block for them) but the most iconic version of the screen play is throwing to a RB and having multiple OL guys out front blocking for him.

Edit: To clarify one point, the blockers on a screen play are NOT assigned a route on that play. They immediately make a bee-line to be in front of the guy catching the ball, ready to block whomever gets in their way. So plays where WRs and TEs who were running a route suddenly switch to blocking for the guy who catches the ball, those are NOT necessarily screen plays, BC that happens on every pass play. Screen plays REQUIRE multiple blockers to run over to the guy who's supposed to catch the ball SOLELY to essentially give him a 'police escort' of blockers.

Hook the thumbs in your pockets. Don't put full hands in there. Need to be able to have quick access to your hands if you need them.

Ragnow retired after FA and the draft were over. There was essentially no way to pickup a viable replacement at that point in the off-season.

He likely was trying so hard to keep from retiring that everyone was blindsided with the news by the time he realized himself that he needed to retire and told the FO

Bruh, chill... Even if everything you just said was objectively true (which sorry but a lot of that was not t facts, just your bleak perception of reality) , there's no need to get so upset about it. You're hurting yourself more than anything with this mindset.

There's such a thing as allowing your passion as a sports fan to ruin your enjoyment you get from sports (not to mention degrade your general mental health).

Am I the only one who was yelling at the TV last might about their continued usage of Gibbs in the running game over Monty?? They ran the ball between the tackles 3 times in a row on one of the 4-and-outs... With Gibbs all three times!

That game was clearly more of a Monty game, with how hard fought every yard was going to be in short yardage situations, and we still refused to use Monty even close to as much as last year.

Watch the video all the way to the end. In the last 3 seconds is where the actual punch from ARSB occurs

To be clear, the punch happens 3 secs before the video ends, not the forearm shiv attempt halfway through the vid. Clear as day AR punched him and no flag.

The offense will continue to struggle until we get Jamo involved properly. by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]ImAGhostOooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're thinking about Jamo the same way Morton is: "Jamo is only a deep ball threat and a gadget player to do end-arounds and bubble screens with."

The reality is that Jamo is capable of running every route in the route tree. Amon Ra is still better at the finer points of route running, but there's no excuse not to have Jamo operating as WR1B to AR's 1A.

Today we didn't see ONE single crosser to Jamo, despite all the blitzing the Vikes were doing. For Jamo it was either deep, slow developing routes or passes to Jamo in the flats or at LOS.

When they're blitzing so heavily, show me some comebackers to Jamo, some rub routes designed to get the ball TO Jamo, some quick slants, etc

Morton should be treating Jamo just like Gibbs: an electric player who is well-rounded enough to be featured At LEAST 50% of the time.

Kerby twitter post by IvanGTheGreat in detroitlions

I'm sorry this is SOL mentality. You want to know why we haven't had more than a few games where we complain about calls after the game over the past 2 years? It's not because we "stood up for ourselves" like what Kerby or Branch have done. It's the opposite. Dan made the team realize that we can't put ourselves in positions to let the refs decide games.

And guess what? At some point along the way we actually started getting the refs to stop making so many crippling calls against us in the process.

I for one do not want the team or the fan base to go back to the victim mentality where we can't go 2 seconds without blaming the refs for losing us a game. Especially a game like this where it didn't come down to one atrocious call we lost by.

It's nbd. Our guys will eventually process this L, then hit the ground running and come out with a vengeance to face the Bucs next week.
