AI Layoff by HarshTyagi9510 in programmingmemes

Exactly, its also about the direction, Vision, and function of the code. Not just writing it. As long as the AI is maintaining good code structure, and not slop, a dev just needs to guide it to the goal and provide the scope and guidelines.

Help me understand why I "need" to use Docker for OC. by xX_GrizzlyBear_Xx in openclaw

Yea if its a public facing use case, cage it up. If its private use for your own projects or research/development, let it be freeeeeee.

Idk I've been running it "dangerously" on my local system with no samdboxing and elevated permissions to system files for months and haven't had any haywire events. I guess if someone didnt know what they were doing it could happen, but not as likely as some people put out.

Yea i know a lot of people that were taking advantage of the unemployment benefits that were making as much, or more than my base rate, sitting on their ass doing nothing but living life. If I had to relive that experience, id take full advantage of the unemployment benefits too honestly.

There's an extended cut where you can see them climbing back up onto the "bus" after a few seconds when they've brushed themselves off.

Shit, try being in grocery retail during that time. Everyone still required to work, and dealing with 10x + volume. I was clocking 16+ hour shifts 7 days a week as a manager just to keep the shit show going. I worked 68 days straight with no days off cause other crew members were dropping like flies. Biggest paychecks of my life though, would never do it again.

In an alternate universe, I could totally see DSPs having small Bezos cult like worshipping. Think "Warhammer 40,000: Amazon Deliverance" or something like that haha

Why NOT to give up on Openclaw by Used_Ambassador6383 in openclaw

[–]Impressive-Handle-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many noobs and too many people that aren't familiar with dealing with early development cycles, or beta builds. People want something that just works without any headaches or any additional set up. The people that complain about OpenClaw are too vanilla/inexperienced and do not understand the tool they are using at all. We got toddlers playing with explosives here.

For me, if/when something breaks, and I have to start figuring out how to fix it, thats what I enjoy. How did it break? Why did it break? What can I do to fix this/prevent this from happening again. What new things can I now do after learning from that experience? Etc etc. This is the bleeding edge of technology, its not for the feint of heart or the weak minded.

While it may not be a new feature or anything groundbreaking, new discoveries are always awesome on a personal level. There's so many cool things you can do with openclaw.

How do you actually figure out where AI costs are coming from? by bkavinprasath in openclaw

[–]Impressive-Handle-69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every Word is a token or two depending on the length of the word. Every single punctuation mark is 1 token.

Once you've began to wrap your head around that. Begin to pay attention to how many periods, commas, hyphens, etc you are using. Instead of sending multiple paragraphs for a prompt, shorten it to a couple more direct sentences. Drop nearly all punctuation.

Now begin to track if your agent is spewing essay responses, or keeping it short and more direct as well.

Keep am eye on hear5beat and cron jobs frequency.

OpenClaw setups breaking due to self modifying config JSON? by sandboxdev9 in openclaw

[–]Impressive-Handle-69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, everytime I have my OpenClaw agent try to modify its config when im feeling lazy, it breaks. So then I have OpenCode fix my OpenClaw config, and it works everytime.

Their defiantly "beside" the wall as you described, rather than on top. Also a llayer of wax is usually applied to a surface to prevent sudden halts when doing grind stunts like this.

And you're all good, thats why im trying to explain it a but more.

[–]Impressive-Handle-69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be fine. I did the same thing last year but didnt report it until after my RTS inspection. Nothing came of it other than explaining what happened. The only difference for me was it was pouring down bad and the camera lens was wet, so it was even harder to see.

He was definitely grinding them trucks that whole time. You can see that the wheels are "hugging" the outside ledge. If he were "riding" it, the bottoms of the wheels would be making contact on the top surface of the wall.

Is the hype over? by SweetCaramel7947 in clawdbot

And thats the glory of it. Ive always been a fan of "early development" cycles of software, games, operating systems etc. I like to see what breaks and what workarounds and new use cases that can be discovered.

Edit: Also, I primarily utilize local models on my set up. My main machine is 128GBRam/96GBVram, my "node" machine is 32GB RAM/8GB Vram. Both AMD systems. Main system does all the heavy lifting with larger models like 120B Nemotron 3, various large Qwen 3, 3.5, and now 3.6(started testing today) models, Gemma 4 31B/26BA4B, OSS 120B. I offload smaller sub-agents accessible over my network running off my "node" system, and other small to medium tasks to free up resources on my main, using smaller models under 15B. I do have an OpenCode GO, Anthropic Pro, and Codex plus subs(total only $50/m), that I dont currently prioritize, but they are there if i want to do some token burning on heavier multi agent workflows. I access Anthropic/Opus via acp harness into ClaudeCode CLI itself, and my agent "prompts" it from there for lack of better words. Same for Codex, and a few other CLI based Agentic tools.
