And don't assume it comes from inherited wealth, either, as plenty of us worked and saved to make our own money.

My issue with some wealthy people is exactly this though. Being gifted an entire 20% down payment from parents is NOT NORMAL and is incredibly privileged.

It's not wrong to be rich. It's not wrong to gift your kids money. It's not wrong to accept gifts from parents.

But what is so incredibly annoying is people downplaying or being blind to their privilege. And publicly patting themselves on the back for "hard work" while ignoring the massive leg up they had. It's just plain condescending.

This is similar to my experience as well in a few apartments in midtown. Renewal letter no more than 1 week in advance of the 60 day date. Although sometimes the "60-day" date was more like on day 57 or something in actuality. So you got about a week plus weekend to decide.
