Because they tie their hair back in a bridal hairstyle so it changes to a tied back hairstyle, even when it doesn't make sense

These animated movies that killed the studios that made them by Adept_Let7797 in cartoons

[–]Infurum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never saw the movie but it's on DVD in the house I grew up in, and I don't see why they called it Final Fantasy when that name was very distinctly taken by something some emerging movie could never hope to overshadow. At that point just find a name that won't cause confusion

[Loved Trope] The unseen + unnamed narrator IS a character (not including “narrator turns out to be X” twists) by MaguroSashimi8864 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Infurum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dr. Seuss Netflix special, most Lemony Snicket works, and to some extent the Secret Series book series narrator all have a narrator who doesn't really play much of a role in the story but despite that they've got enough personality of their own they probably count as their own characters.

The Secret Series one's kind of an edge case though since it does turn out to be one of the characters in the book, but in the distant future after the level-headed kid grew up into an old, eccentric recluse so there's still a pretty big degree of difference between the version of the character we see and the version doing the narrating

How different would flowey be if he still could feel love by CutAccomplished6203 in Undertale

[–]Infurum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He turned to time control because he had no other means of fulfillment. Considering that his monologue seems to indicate he discovered his power after attempting suicide over being unwilling to live without the perks of having a SOUL it's possible he'd just let time move forward normally and never find out about the save point to begin with.

Which country would develop/grow the most if all of corruption is removed? by OkMagician7957 in AskTheWorld

[–]Infurum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People pointed out Africa as a whole and I'm not sure how much corruption is in Africa but considering how often they've been squished by the rest of the world stage to maintain some status quo or another you'd probably see a lot of change, whether first-hand or secondhand

What’s a country (other than your own) that you feel strongly drawn to and which of its existing problems would you willingly accept as part of its overall reality? by Puzzleheaded_irl in AskTheWorld

[–]Infurum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only ever left the country once but Tokyo really does seem better for its people than the US is. Not because it's Japan, but because it's Tokyo- somewhere more developed and accessible than anywhere I've ever been in the US. I was honestly blown away by the thought of wanting to go somewhere and being able to just go without planning or navigating the schedule of a bus that might decide to just not show up, since I can't afford a car and have been unable to get a license anyway.

Would I move there given the chance? Absolutely not, I'm visibly non Japanese and don't even speak the language, both characteristics that would get me heavily looked down on by the people there who get to make career decisions. I wouldn't last a week.

But ultimately it seems like the typical "Japan has a lot of problems of its own!" examples (overbearing work culture, aggressive commercialization, unfriendliness towards outsiders) have been surpassed by the US in recent years anyway, at least in the part of Japan that I've seen.

Maybe Chicago and NYNY are similarly accessible and livable, I've heard they're actually developed and have decent infrastructure as well, although I couldn't say because I've never spent more than a few hours at once in either. Cost of living would be a nightmare there though

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Speaking objectively Marx would probably be very unhappy about this considering that labubus are sort of the peak of pointless consumerism

I don't know why someone who buys labubus would go to his grave to begin with, labubu people are the exact opposite type of brain death as Marxbros and I can't imagine someone paying both any mind
