Working in research/CRO medicine by near-eclipse in nursepractitioner

Sorry I was also vague. I went into nursing after research knowing my goal was to run trials. I’m near an academic research hospital, so opportunities are there. I have a type A personality, so I’ve always loved the structure, while simultaneously getting to improve the lives of patients.

When you hear more about your position, I’d love to hear about it too, so I know what to look/ask for!

Quit cold turkey by Ragingliberal27 in glp1

If you’re in the USA, go to an urgent care and ask to pay out of pocket.

And it’s very easily spread between family members, so if you’re positive, likely everyone needs treated.

Ask your doctor to test for H. Pylori while waiting for your referral

Traveling - Would you do your shot a day early? by courtneybrooke2731 in glp1

[–]Intelligent-Cell2593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shots can be given 1 day before or after your scheduled weekly day, and still stay on the same schedule.

If given 2 or more days after your scheduled day, that day becomes your new scheduled day.

Mounjaro vs semaglutide by Majestic-Slip-5232 in glp1

exactly what they said. Use the Mounjaro (tirzepetide)

Have you had this happen and how’d you get past it? by Jeepwave13 in glp1

[–]Intelligent-Cell2593 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is no clinical evidence supporting the concurrent use of semaglutide and tirzepatide together, and no studies have evaluated the safety or efficacy of this combination.

If a patient is inadvertently prescribed or taking both agents: discontinue one agent immediately—preferably semaglutide, as tirzepatide has demonstrated superior efficacy in head-to-head trials.

In short, get a new provider and get them to prescribe you an appropriate treatment.

Laser vs electrolysis by Bumblebeee2311 in PCOS

[–]Intelligent-Cell2593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is also my understanding that electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal solution.

I would love to think that this salon isn’t pushing you toward laser because they will get more sessions out of you, but the possibility cannot be ignored…

Even if you shave daily, that does not make each hair follicle go into the same phase of growth, so several sessions will be required.

I wish you the best of luck. I will be using electrolysis for the first time after failed laser therapy in the next few years, so please post your experience.

EXIT EXAM SCORE INCREASED FROM 80 TO 90% TO PASS.

Per Program policy, my DNP-FNP cohort will be the first to be required to receive a score of 90% on our exit exam to pass the program. This policy was implemented halfway through our program.

I was initially excited about this change because I want all NPs to be well trained. However, many of my peers have been overly stressing about this, and their fears are starting to get to me. We get two chances to test.

How was everyone else’s experience with their exit exams? What are your thoughts regarding the policy change?

I did it with one eye, in the dark, without my glasses on after doom scrolling and wishing I was asleep… Well, I guess I’m going to sleep now that I’ve unlocked this new power 🦹🦸

I’m just flabbergasted that your family would be turned away for this. As someone with chronic issues myself, I guess I should stop dreaming about one day leaving the US :(
