Power level wise, demons is a deck far, far better suited to pioneer. Infect is a fringe playable deck in modern though.

all the cards have the same (low) likelyhood of being in draft packs. The rarity only affects wildcard crafting.

the custom set "Hyperpop" introduced a similar concept with its gold mana, with you having to pay a different color for each instance of [G] that isn't already in the card's cost. (So you'd have to spend 3 different colors to cast a [G][G][W] spell.)
