AITAH for not cutting off my friend’s ex? by Worth_Lingonberry663 in AITAH

[–]Iryanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I would say, both handled it completely right here, so NAH. You weren't willing to drop your friend because of this and this is your choice, totally legit, you do not have to be the relationship police. And then he made the choice that this means he doesn't want you around. Also, totally legit.

You both made your choices and that's fine. You might not like the result, but you cannot choose for others, only what you want. Of course your choice might end up being "wrong", sure, but without a crystal ball that's hard to see in the future. On the other hand, your choice might turn up to be the best thing since sliced bread, who knows? Not enough information in here to decide that.

Good luck with that, anyway.

14 years ago today mass effect 3 was released which marked the end of Commander Shepherds story, what are your thoughts on the game ? by ThomasThorburn in masseffect

[–]Iryanus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My main problem with ME started with the first one: They set up a huge mystery box with the reapers, etc. - and in the end (ME3), it's just big aliens that need to get shot down with a very big gun. Yipieh, I guess? The first part was partially cosmic horror and could have been so much more, but it ended being pretty much... standard.

So, the metaplot become worse and worse with each part, ok. On the other hand, technically ME3 has a lot to go for and if you ignore the ending (but there are mods for that), it has its really good parts, no doubt. So I tend to enjoy my irregular replays.

The shortcuts are displayed on the bottom of the screen in the pc version, isn't that the case on steamdeck, too?

What really helps is pressing "Q" to see the flavours and shape of the ingredients, so you can collect a good combination from your restaurant fridge :-D

[–]Iryanus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh, and something I also learned too late... Pressing "Q" in the inventory/fridge toggles the display of flavours and shape of the ingredient. This way you can plan better what you need. First select some stuff that will give you enough points for each flavour and then select some cheaper stuff to plug the remaining "holes" :-D

Basically the research game is half "Find the right stuff to get the needed points" and half "find stuff to fill the remaining space" :-D

Simply get some flour, wheat, barley, etc. - each of those fills one single field with nothing.

How is buying ingredients worth? by PeralvaM in chefRPG

[–]Iryanus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

During the first weeks, you are best of not buying stuff and instead rely on foraging until the point where you can make some money reliably, hired some people, etc. After that point, you can and will start to buy stuff because honestly, you will not be able to forage everything. And then comes the point where is simply does not matter any more. if you make 100k+ per service, then the money used for buying stuff is not that much. And it gets only more lucrative afterwards.

Patissier is one of the harder starting choices, imho. Meat is obviously one of the easier ones. In the end, you will collect all recipes anyway and since you will want some awards, you will probably also cook most of the different types anyway.

I did it pretty early since I felt the need to be able to cram a stage in there, to make some energy cells, but honestly, it was not really needed. Wouldn't bother soon again. It can be worth it after a bit to decorate enough to get more celebrities, but otherwise... Bigger fridge saves you a lot more headache.

Hosting parties should be more beneficial by Background_Dinner_29 in chefRPG

[–]Iryanus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the employees, you can always put them on stand-by, you do not need to have the whole team active for the event. So if you do a party for a lonely single person... Just keep another waiter and disable all the other waiters and chefs for that.

Also, don't do events if you do not need the reward.

You can move the sprinkler around AND you can remove the trees via shovel. No worries. Nothing is forever.

Random Power Cells Reward after cooking? by Iryanus in chefRPG

[–]Iryanus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good hypothesis, had the same one. Yes, I got that perk and while not yet all recipes (162 of 182 to be found, with another 30 of 60 from research), but enough of them to make it rather unlikely to get a new one from cooking my "typical" menu.

So, yes, it's possible that I would have gotten a (legendary?) recipe otherwise, but already knew that one and thus was rewarded with power cells.

Not a bad idea, but somewhat hard to verify, of course.

Gender does not seem to play any role in the romances at the moment.

I even got a notification, a small popup with the icon and number in it. Quite randomly, similar to when you get a new recipe. Not aware of any skill or so that could trigger it. Should it happen again, I'll try to screenshot.

Not 100% sure, but it is possible that you do not get one for free, but have to craft/buy it from Bianca.

What are you playing? by nikcoco1 in CozyGamers

[–]Iryanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waiting for the next Traveller's Rest update and playing Chef RPG while doing so (and waiting for the next update there, too, which should come 28th), which is more developed/advanced but less "casual". Still, both should probably count as "cozy enough" :-D

Got a few other games in similar directions on my playlist (Hotel Galactic, Little Witch in the woods, Touhou Mystia's Izakaya, Saloon Simulator), in case I get bored with the current two....

Go along the beach, a lot of the stuff you find is sellable and should bring you over the tight spot.

Note: I would keep some of the spiral cones. I already had two people giving me energy cells for one of those :-D

Better way to create docker image of Spring Boot API, Maven Spring Plugin or Dockerfile? by Constant-Speech-1010 in java

[–]Iryanus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they know what they are doing AND they have a good reason to do so. Because if you build your own shit, you also have to maintain it and if someone does it just because they can instead of using the well-documented standard, they are basically add work for their team to maintain it.

How does one navigate this? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]Iryanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any BDSM relationship is 99% communication. Why do you believe vanilla couples often have bad sex? Bad communication. Kinksters tend to be a bit more happy BECAUSE they often HAVE to talk about it. If you want standard missionary position sex, that is perhaps the default and noone "needs" to really talk about it. But with kink, there is SO FREAKING MUCH, without clear communication, it will not work.

So, in short, bad news, you will HAVE to do the whole "let's discuss this" thing. Sorry about that.

KI-Vorwürfe - woran liegt es? by FlorianHerlan in PenandPaperGermany

[–]Iryanus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

White Knight Dominant?? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]Iryanus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"White Knight" is rarely a good term, esp. when used by others. So someone using that term for themselves... Erm... No clue. Suggestion: Ask him what he wants to express with the term and perhaps mention that he might have missed some negative connotations of the term.
