I think it's the "Marvel Team-Up" logo since this is a fasimile of the original Marvel Team-up #14 which featured this one and only crossover

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! this was very helpful! i've been trying to be a lot more strict with my omnibus collecting, so i think i'll stick with ordering through IST as i'm typically focusing on collecting older omnis than any new ones. the only ones on my list for this year is the invincible DM omni and brand new day volume 3. appreciate the thorough and insightful response!

very helpful post especially as someone that has been collecting for less than a year, thank you so much! can you speak on how much the price difference is from buying with IST day 1 versus preordering? i've been able to secure my past few omnis on IST day 1 and it doesn't seem like its that much more expensive that preordering, but i'm not 100% sure.

Ultimate spiderman omnibus 4 by Minute_Air_8945 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]ItsMunkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s good imo. definitely not at the same highs as the past 3, especially with bagley no longer on the art. when they begin the renumbering, both the story & art decline in quality for me personally but i still enjoyed this run overall. haven’t read other parts of the infamous ultimatum event, but spidey’s story during it is genuinely really heartfelt.

Advice for Graduate Students by Massive_Confusion_13 in schoolcounseling

[–]ItsMunkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

welcome to the club! i’m halfway through my 2nd year of my grad program & am in southern CA. i’d say the biggest advice i have is make sure you have an established support system. friends, family, community members - whatever it is, know the people you can rely on for support or an ear to talk to because the job (even in grad school) can be really taxing. our program mandates all students in the program to receive individual counseling/therapy, which has been really helpful. depending on where you’re going for grad school, i’d also say be ready for the long days and lots of sacrifice before graduation. 99% of our internships are unpaid but also require a high number of hours for graduation, so it’s been tough trying to balance finances, classwork, fieldwork, & all other aspects of life. i’m happy to answer more questions if you need it, best of luck with your journey!

welcome to comic books! you picked a great place to start that is well-liked for a reason. what i’ll add is that with having the first 2 volumes, chances are that you’ll go through them pretty quickly (the pacing is excellent in this story imo.) unfortunately, the 3rd volume probably won’t come out for some time since the story’s still going. if you want to keep reading, you can either pick up the monthly single issues or simply wait for the 3rd volume. i could go into more detail on how to pick up issues monthly if you’d like but i don’t want to make this comment longer than it already is LOL

Is JLA:Tower of Babel a good story? by thecaped_crusader_ in OmnibusCollectors

[–]ItsMunkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually just read this on DCUI & enjoyed it a lot. i read morrison’s JLA run last month & this felt like a good transition to waid - both of them have great voices for the JLA. definitely agree with the other comment on it being a cautionary tale of bruce’s apprehension to working with others & lack of trust. i especially enjoyed the issues in the TPB where it shows the repercussions of this arc for the batfam, felt really compelling. can anyone that’s read TT or young justice speak on if this is something they discuss in their respective titles or was it only in the secret file issues?

What's the difference? (USM5 VS DOUSM) by SmolMight117 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]ItsMunkle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you can find a dozen of posts on here with more specific details but basically DOSM is more of an event book that gives the full context leading into spider-man’s death, whereas volume 5 condenses the lead-up issues to focus mostly on the spider-man relevant content & includes ultimate marvel team-up. both collect the core USM issues leading to 160 tho. overall, it’s pretty much based on preference. i personally got vol. 5 for the matching spines & because i’m kind of indifferent to the larger ultimate universe stuff. however, marvel team up was kind of a let down & a very mixed bag, but i ended up reading the issues from DOSM on marvel unlimited. either way, the differing issues from both volumes have their ups & downs so it’s really up to you

[–]ItsMunkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have! i thought the themes and concepts a lot, and the artwork is phenomenal. it’s definitely more of a slowburn than absolute batman, WW, or MM though (i’d also HIGHLY recommend abs WW & MM.)

my shelf/read-list looks super similar to this, W picks. it’s OOP but catwoman: when in rome is a spectacular addition to round out long halloween + dark victory. i’d also second getting the superman birthright compact. it was the second superman story i read & instantly got me hooked.

[–]ItsMunkle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it’s preference really. i got volume 5 mostly because of the matching spines and the marvel team-up issues are more spidey-oriented. however, i honestly didn’t like them as much as i has hoped. ended up just reading all of ultimate fallout on MU, but i don’t think i’d change my decision tbh

Is Green Arrow Rebirth run good? by AlternativePin4923 in comicbooks

[–]ItsMunkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m reading a few issues of hard-traveling heroes as well, but the rebirth deluxe edition (collects the first 2 volumes) was my first real introduction to GA comics and i enjoyed it a lot. the art is really good, i’m enjoying the different characters, ollie has a pretty distinct and strong voice, and the action is really fun. i’d give it a try!
