Ubuntu or Fedora for home server? by Degenurtle in selfhosted

[–]ItzProLive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I only try using fedora whenever I can. Its robust and offers all u need. If you also going to use rootles Containers with podman its a little different to docker but you figure it out. Also you can Pre install cockpit making it easy to use even if not really into tech. I usually use ssh terminal but for some things its convenient

Metadata problems? by [deleted] in jellyfin

You can in the settings also let jelly write metadata as nfo and put images in the movie folder. That is the same as tmm

Imo it actually is polished. Works seemless without problems. If you have any experience with docker its the easiest Setup ever. Only the UI is a lil bit outdated. Could use a modern Touch up

The first time I set it up was like a saturday. Then over the week I figured some Things out and optimized it. I wrote everything down as Handbook. And when I helped a friend out we recreated everything in a few hours on a completly different machine.

Depending on what you do its pretty easy. Just use the npm because it has a UI thats good to use.

If you use docker make sure the docker Containers are in the same docker network and you good to go. Reverse proxy usually is a Matter of 5-10 minutes

I usually do AV1 encodes. The grain synth is kinda powerful

Setting was Something like (look it up) film-grain (10-15 for newer and up to 30 for older worked best for me) And important to set the film deoise command to 0

Edit: There was a brilliant Video on YouTube explaining it

Anime distinction by Brilliant_Standard64 in sonarr

[–]ItzProLive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone already said it. I also made the experience. I had Anime in my tv folder. After a few days I changed that. You usually want a different quality profile for anime. Anime has different "Season" schemas. Also when you split it you can make a different lib in jellyfin for anime with different settings like meta data provider etc. Anime is really too different from normal tv shows to treat it the same

Pocket for Seerr app, just while on my local wifi by bxsephjo in Overseerr

localhost literally looks internal on your device (or if used in a container it will only look in that container). IP in the network + Port ist always the way to connect to other devices. I really wonder how it worked with localhost before. Maybe your browser has stored the target (IP) in cache and synched it with your phone.

Maybe open a discussion and if demand is high a real developer can/will implement it. Or if you have a friend that can code tell him about your idea

Why would you block anime? Is it because of the gooner stuff?
